Can I buy from a browser from the eShop ? You need to access the eShop at least once from your Switch before you can buy online. Eurogamer have a handy guide here, though the same method applies for all regions. I’m based in Europe… can I log onto overseas eShops? 1) Use a browser to go to accounts.nintendo.com 2) Create a new account 3) Set your region to the one you want, e.g. Japan. NOTE: This can be changed at any time 4) On the Switch, go to SYSTEM SETTINGS > USER > ADD NEW USER. 5) Set icon and nickname (anything memorable will do, but you might want to add ‘JPN’ to the end of the nickname for easy reference) 6) Link this to the account you created in step 2 You can either repeat this step for different territories OR simply use your second account as a floating region, remembering to change the region at accounts.nintendo.com and re-entering your password to agree to the country's specific EULA. NOTE: Any eShop funds you have tied to a specific store (e.g. Japan) will be erased if you switch the account region. ____________ How do I log on to an overseas eshop? Unfortunately, no (unless you happen to have a card from that territory). You will have to buy eShop cards from places such eBay, Japan Code Supply or Play-Asia, etc. or use an alternative method (Sorry, no PayPal either). Stocking up with eShop funds has it's disadvantages, however as they can not only be expensive, but should you change your region, any remaining credit will be erased. Gotters Posted January 17, 2018 Author Share Posted January 17, 2018 my initial view of NBA Playygrounds is that it plays ok, especially for £8.99 - I may not have felt so forgiving at double that. all the buttons do something so there is a bit of complexity to play with alley oops, blocks, elbows, crossovers etc, and the shot system is initially confusing with a power bar and sweet spot for dunks and 3 pointers which is based on a players stats (can be flipped to something simpler I think). few game modes with online now added in too - which was missing from the previous version on the store - apparently the release version from back last year was taken down and everybody who bought it gets the new enhanced version for free, so looks like the devs trying to support it, they added online and tweaked a lot of gameplay things people didn't like. its a zippy 2v2 basketball game with an in game card collecting system to build your team, but this seems entirely in game from what I can see, there aren't timers or gems to buy (though think there are a couple of big DLC add-ons to buy) I don't think NBA playgrounds is going to be a great game but feels a solid effort, and I was only looking for NBA Jam the other day so does scratch that itch a bit, in less flamboyant style. Does it require extensive knowledge of basketball tactics and things or is it pretty much skill based running around trying to score? no tactics at all, its a 2v2 run around and score thing, the shooting needs a bit of timing with a power bar to get dunks/3pts in - I haven't tried yet but this can be switched off in options I believe. Turkey isn't listed. My Turkish store of choice for buying Turkish xbox credit, doesn't seem to stock eshop vouchers, which suggests that there isn't a Turkish eshop. A shame. Turkey is usually the cheapest store for purchasing xbox games, and I have a Turkish online retailer who'll sell me credit at face value i.e. without any markups. And what are the chances of Nintendo suddenly stopping me from playing games from other countries that I've bought, do you reckon? Gotters Posted January 19, 2018 Author Share Posted January 19, 2018 There is quite a lot of shovelware starting to arrive now - saw a crap one button iPhone game which cost a couple of quid turn up yesterday for £17.99 (Tiny Planet). Flipped NBA Playgrounds to the one button shooting mode, losing the power bar, and its much more immediate to play now - I'm quite enjoying it at £8, it scratches the NBA Jam itch I had - its not quite as frantic and cool but the best approximation I've seen in a while.
