Yep, looks like maybe one more episode to finish the arc and then just an episode or two conclusion/wrap up seems likely..

It could leave a couple of characters with some unfinished business, but most of that could be played out in the conclusion.. or perhaps even saved for one-shots later on..

Hopefully we'll get a few more games run by the rest of the cast next.. Ashley still has to do hers that was part of the animated series stretch goals and there was a VM vs M9 party Battle Royale one in the goals too.

Seems to have upset some of the 'fans' that this one will be over 'so soon' (ignoring the fact that we're going to hit 141 episodes and nearly 500 hours of in-game time before this is done!)

No matter how good individual episodes might be, there's always a bit of fatigue at some point along the way for most (especially casual) watchers and likely the cast too.. It has been three and a half years of campaign after all.. It makes it difficult for people to catch up and there has to be a lot of viewers drop out before the end..

I'd quite like them to have the next campaign(s) designed to be shorter - Perhaps go for a year/ up to level 8-10.. before concluding.

They could always come back a couple of years later for a new adventure with those characters once they've run something else..

Also this week..

#140

Emotional whiplash warning...

Going to be controversial with some, but I think there's a certain delightful symmetry to it.. and I think they earned it..

It does appear the next episode will indeed be the wrap-up/conclusion of the Mighty Nein's story..

Episode 140

Here we go.. the climactic battle of the campaign.. Deep in the heart of Cognouza, the Mighty Nein face the second form of the Neo-Somnovem in hopes of bringing an end to his nightmarish dominion.

I’m slowly catching up - only ten months behind! I was following along every week until about episode 80 something but was finding it a bit of a slog and stopped. Then I went back and went up to episode 91 and stopped again in July last year. I’m now on episode 102.

Yes, eps 139/140 are the climax of the final arc and 141 this week will be the last episode of the campaign and (presumably) deal with the aftermath of Aeor/Cognoza and conclude most of the remaining loose ends. And yes it does appear it'll be longer than watching the first two (Extended) LOTR films back to back..

Then there's also the Campaign Wrap Up, which is the cast and viewers questioning Matt on things that could have gone differently or things they missed along the way..
