The actor, who co-starred in 1993's Jurassic Park and 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park, will appear in Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s next Jurassic World film.

 

J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) is directing the next installment in the studio's hit franchise. Jurassic World earned $1.67 billion worldwide in 2015 and is the fourth-highest-grossing film in history.

 

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel, which also stars Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, wrote the script for the follow-up with Derek Connolly. The film is slated for release on June 22, 2018.

 

Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again join executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow in the next chapter of the franchise. Belén Atienza is also producing. Universal vp production Sara Scott is overseeing production on behalf of the studio.

 

Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, the know-it-all mathematician who came to the park as an insurance consultant — and somehow survived both the original film and the sequel.

 

Goldblum will next be seen in Disney and Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, set to hit theaters Nov. 3. His other recent credits include Independence Day: Resurgence and The Grand Budapest Hotel. He also is reuniting with director Wes Anderson on the upcoming film Isle of Dogs.

Hmm... Thought Jurassic World was good at the time but after a rewatch it's pretty awful. 

 

It feels like this is doing the same sort of thing Star Wars has been doing; poorly retreading exactly the same tropes to resell to pseudo fans who weren't around for the original. 

 

Just rip off another Dinosaur book there's plenty out there.

Why do I have a feeling that they have just shown the entire movie in that teaser :-( they have basically spelt out the main plot beats of the movie - did they learn nothing from the whole terminator genysis trailer fiasco??

It's not shown me anything I didn't already know. Dinosaurs are amazing so I will be watching this day one.

Hmm maybe i won't watch the trailer then. Genysis was ruined for me due to the trailer giving so much away.

It's basically The Lost World too, but instead of kidnapping the dinos to take off the Island, they're rescuing them. Also, why would she go back to the island, she has no hunting or tracking skills, she's a suit. It makes zero sense.

I think it looks like they've made another $300 million big silly dinosaur film and that's absolutely fine by me.

im kinda hoping that the trailer has only maybe shown us the first half of the movie with some twists etc... for later.   it really seems stupid to show as much as they have in a teaser for it to be the movie laid out 

 

dont get me wrong ill be there opening night, dinosaurs for the win
