Hitman tries again on TV

Hulu, with Fox, will try again with Hitman, on TV. Derek Kolstad, from John Wick, is also involved. He’s writing the pilot at least and will be an executive producer. They’re hoping it will be a flagship series. They better try harder than the movies then.

Skeptical, despite Derek Kolstad. I guess it all boils down to how they portrait Agent 47, hes the star but hes also an emotionless killer without any sense of humor. If they try to portrait him as anything else, it might as well be a series about a completely different person.

An assassination of the week format could work. Each episode is Agent 47 planning and executing a hit in some clever way. Make it a bit like Mission Impossible. There you go.

Sounds like a live action Golgo 13.

Agent 47 is one of the most boring characters imaginable - and that's not a criticism when you're playing a game as your actions shape the kind of person he is. Outside of that, stop trying to make Hitman a thing, it's just not going to work.

Anyone remember how good Taken and the Transporter TV shows are?

What is it about the character of Agent 47 that makes such a compelling basis for storytelling?

They can mine all the wonderful memorable stories from the game, like that one where it turns out Agent 47 is being set up very the people employing him or that other one where some shadowy types are out to get Agent 47 and blow me if it wasn’t his own employers  all along.
