GAF Meltdown - owner accused

I like NeoGaf simply because it was a huge community, and so niche gaming topics thrived.

I always thought it was strange that they had a single owner model when clearly our model of the members owning the forum allows for more independence, transparency and ensures that no one person is indispensable.

This is true, but the traffic at NeoGAF is so much more than somewhere like here that he made a very good living from the advertising money, as well as being a recognisable industry figure along with the infamy that comes with it. I don’t believe the Rllmuk owners ever had such aspirations or viewed it as more than a hobby. I understand why he wanted to remain the ‘overlord’ of his site, but as you can see now his greed eventually backfired on him.

Greed had nothing to do with it.

Is there actually more to the story that I'm missing.  Because the way I see it, nothing much happened. He knew the girl, they were in his room drinking and having a great time. She jumps in the shower. He miss reads the situation, jumps in with her. She says no, I think you've got the wrong idea. He says oh, and jumps out without anything happening.

Is that the sum of it?

He was found with child pornography.

I meant his greed in wanting the forum to remain ‘his’ kept him in the spotlight, meaning when these revelations came out he got more media attention than he otherwise might have.

I can understand him wanting to run it and make money from it. And yes his higher profile has brought him media attention. I just don't think greed is the right word at all. Making money and being a decent human being aren't mutually exclusive.

I think he then took the 'rejection' badly and harrassed her for ages. Total prick.

Yes I agree, which is what I said in my original post that you first quoted.

Again, you can claim he was greedy, controlling or whatever. None of that has anything to do with these sexual harassment claims.

Stop making a link that isn't there.
