A 10 episode (an hour each) "sci-fi family drama" based on a short (and comic) by ad and music video director Dennis Liu (short posted below). Michael B. Jordan is also involved in bringing the show about, as well as having a supporting role.

 

It's about a single mother raising a child, Dion, who starts to exhibit superpowers. She tries to keep it secret, especially from those who would exploit it.

Later she dies in a tornado when he could save her. Trouble arrives for Dion when a murderous General Sod shows up.
