I think this is the one without the working keyboard though, which is a bit shit compared to the other one.

At least I assume so, as the Amazon and doesn't mention working keyboard.

How many people bought the Vic-20 model of the bigger one as well as the C64 full size and the mini?

Just the C64 Maxi for me. It scratches the itch I've had for years to own a C64, which has been prevented by the practicalities of using one with a modern display. I never got on with emulating micros because of the differing keyboard layouts. 

 

I don't see the need for a mini or a Vic20, since I have no nostalgia for it. 

 

Though if they brought out a C16 version...

heres the thing. I’m pretty sure the c64 has a vic20 mode, right? 

They could, in theory, patch in c16 emulation, and I would be all over that, but I’d prefer a black and grey case to go with it…

There's been a lot of talk about C16 emulation on the Facebook groups, but I doubt it'll happen. 

 

If they released a straight up TheC16, I'd be very happy with that.

I have Mini and Maxi, decided not to get the VIC - but I did end up buying one to ship to a friend who was desperate for it.

The original C64 cannot emulate the VIC directly, because the memory layout is so different. The Maxi has the VIC-20 mode.

The keyboard layout would be a factor that made C16 emulation trickier too - several keys are in different places, notably the different cursor layout.

Picked this up in the sale recently, I updated the firmware but when l launch a game I can’t get it to start with the joystick, is there something else I need to do to get the game to work?

Try the stick in another USB port and reboot.
