Not sure how he can improve on txk but I'm ready inject it into my veins!!!!

(hang on could this be a new version of txk now all legal rather than a whole new game? I thought he was working on rift/vice versions of polybius) llama soft is a 2 man team so not sure how they can get it out in 2017 otherwise

Well, it's definitely TxK with some stuff added, but it's PC and Xbox too.

I just meant its probably the build he was already porting to the PS4 before Atari put the breaks on it. He tweeted fairly recently that he'd started work on it again so it makes sense it's that, rather something brand new. TxK is the best version of Tempest he's made so far, so that would be good news all round to see it come to more formats.

I bet this a PS4 version of TxK with extra bells, whistles and VR. Which would suit me just fine.

Yup this is what it will be. Jeff already mentioned he was working at getting TxK released to PSVR and others

Yeah, I just meant it definitely is that because I read the thread on Minter's forum which basically confirms it is that.

To be fair if its TxK then he's already done all the hard work as it was almost ready for release when Atari blocked it.

Having finished it on vita and sold the console I can't wait to buy this again and play it on a massive TV with headphones on.

Great news indeed, provided it gets released without any bugs this time. TxK had a few.

I'm still miffed about Polybius, haven't touched it since I found out it also has a broken trophy. Someone mentioned forums, got a link? It seems to have very few players and even less that actually care, but I'd like to at least make a plea for a patch. The forums on the minotaur project page haven't seen a new post since 2012/13 or something, is there another one?

Weird as fuck overreaction. Thought it was a little silly when I saw you post about it in the 'Lyb thread, but to hear how it's since developed into some stubborn non-touching of the game just blows my mind.

I simply can't imagine giving that much of a fuck about a trophy / achievement, but then I never have understood what the fuss was with them in general. I guess I appreciate that everyone is entitled to a differing opinion, but that game is just too beautiful a thing to completely dismiss over such an insignificant glitch.

Sadness burger with extra tear sauce for me here, ta. Choking it down :(

It's not a willful attempt not to play it,  or a protest, I just lost all my motivation for it.

My reaction would be the same if the trophies were just internal to the game and not public. I like to accept the challenges games throw at you, but not if the effort is for nothing.

Dunno, I don't really "get" trophy hunting and dislike their seemingly arbitrary requirements so turned off notifications long ago..

The designer of the game clearly doesn't  care about them either if he keeps throwing in broken or impossible trophies and not bothering to test them beforehand or fix them afterwards.

These are linked directly into the game in a way that most trophies are not - actually PS4 notifications don't show while using VR for any game, but Polybius has it's own that are built in. It also makes it much harder to overlook as the list is right there next to the high scores.

Anyway I signed up to the forum and made my plea - apparently after TxK, getting the trophies working correctly was a very high priority for Llamasoft with Polybius. Giles assures me that it's possible and that the trophy description must be wrong if its not unlocking. A glimmer of hope then.

As for high scores, I placed around 30th for YOLO mode - but on my alt account. I didn't want to mount a serious challenge until I could play on my main account (to avoid competing with my future self!) so it all contributed to the weird directionless limbo I was left in where I just ended up not playing it at all.
