Matt Groening is doing a new adult animation on Netflix. Already ordered 20 episodes, in two seasons of 10. Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon and Eric Andre lead the cast, with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding and Lucy Montgomery also voicing. Lots of familiar names from both sides of the Atlantic there.

 

It's set in a crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland with lots of the usual fantasy type races. As usual with Groening, it's being animated by Rough Draft.

Futurama but fantasy sounds great. God, I miss futurama. I've been watching it all again on now TV, but it disappears on 18th august.

Now with a date of 17 August and some proper pictures. The main characters are Bean (the princess), Luci (the demon) and Elfo (the elf).

The Imgur links in your post work fine, if you remove all the Rllmuk imageproxy= stuff at the start that gets added when you embed it. Forum bug, @TehStu?

I doubt it'll turn out anything at all like it, but that throne picture is kind of reminding me of this bit from Skottie Young's I Hate Fairyland.

Agreed, checked it out on Friday and I thought I must be missing something because I was stony faced throughout. Central character was loud and arrogant in an irritating way too like a bad version of Zap Brannigan

Final Space is rarely that funny, but the animation is lovely at times, it has good action and a surprising amount of heart.

capwn disclaimer : capwn does not actually think the fact that the show is lead by a courageous women are the motives of someone with an agenda. He does believe it's just progressive storytelling. However, capwn can see other people on places like 4Chan coming to the conclusion that this is a SJW enforced show. Capwn was merely attempting to replicate their personality.

I've only listened to the first few minutes of it so far, but they say that the first episode is weak but they've enjoyed the later ones:

I can't bear tv shows that don't hit the bat right from the off. If they can't even be bothered to make a strong pilot then there isn't much hope for it.

There's a large number of well regarded shows that didn't exactly hit the ground running, but you already knew that.

I gave up the first episode after 20 minutes. It seems to only be bothering with trying to be funny and it just barely happens. Tried 10 mins of the next episode and the only good parts were with Matt Berry.
