MattyP Report post Posted July 18, 2017 I know.. suppose gives people a choice though... either play the game or spend real money to get in game credits... rather play the game myself! Personally I'll be getting the standard version....
SteveH Report post Posted July 30, 2017 So the single player campaign is basically a gazillion license tests? What a pile of wank. This will be the first GT game I don't buy 1

This will be the first GT game I don't buy It's a bit unusual, but it could be thought of more as "challenges" than licence tests as long as there's enough variety. I think PGR2 or something had a mode that was basically a collection of challenges, hot laps, cone things, time attacks, standard races etc... and you'd win various medals depending on how well you did. And I played that mode a ton. Hopefully the most licence-test-y stuff will just be in that initial "Driving School" category...

Same for me - thought it looked quite broad for simple challenge/tests - though none will truly know how it all will be until we get the game in our own hands. The feeling is always different from the watching

MeanElf Report post Posted August 6, 2017 As they said in the Scapes exploration vid - there are those out there who enjoy the driving but aren't necessarily into the racing but love the photo mode. That'll be me! I knew from very early on that Scapes would be huge and versatile - I never knew it would be quite so stupendous. Colour me very, ecstatically happy.

Yup, and it's quite the letdown in the version we played. Just two tracks which you can race 1-on-1. Although the driving experience itself it actually quite good - but it has nothing on Driveclub VR or DiRT Rally. It very much feels like something Yamauchi really wanted to do, but then he couldn't make it work across the whole game. 22 hours ago, MeanElf said: As they said in the Scapes exploration vid - there are those out there who enjoy the driving but aren't necessarily into the racing but love the photo mode. "PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to preload the Gran Turismo Sport demo on Oct. 7 at 8 a.m. PT and play it on Oct. 9 at 12 a.m. PS4 owners who don’t subscribe to PlayStation Plus will be able to download and play the demo on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. PT. The demo will come to an end Oct. 12 at 8 a.m. PT." The demo is only for a few days though WTF?! Just happens that I'm on holiday out of the country until the 18th ... grrrr dammit Sony/PD. Why not make a demo and just well you know leave it there permanently for people to try before they buy?!
Fargo Report post Posted October 7, 2017 The demo is up if you search for it on store. It's a whopping 43GB so it must essentially be the full game which unlocks on release if you pre-order?

Stanley Report post Posted October 7, 2017 At least you can preload it. But yeah for a demo it's a tad on the large side.
joffocakes Report post Posted October 7, 2017 Oof. I was gonna give it a try but that's pretty large. I tried the VR version at EGX but it looks really ugly through those goggles (the fact the race was a tedious, ~7 minute lap didn't help) so I wanted to play the game proper. Racing games always look lovely.

George Clooney Report post Posted October 7, 2017 To be honest, I'd be interested in the game if it did a proper VR mode for all the game systems, but if it's cut back like people have said previously, then ahm oot. I'm sure it'll look lovely, but the last few really seemed to be showing their age as far as the handling models, and the earlier games seemed to offer much more in the way of interesting stuff to do to your car, whereas the latter ones replaced that for more emphasis on tire pressure and camber angles that whacking a stupid looking race upgrade that turned it into a clown car. Alright, I just want to be able to take a second hand Mitsubishi and turn it into a 1000 bhp rocket car that drives through corners rather than round them, like you could in the first game.
