Nah, it’s been through dev hell at Bandai Namco and was rebooted from scratch at Retro only a couple of years ago.

 

Still doesn’t change the fact this will probably launch in the tail-end of the Switch 2’s lifecycle.

Metroid Prime 4 has been with Retro since 2019, I wouldn't be surprised if its next year's big winter title.

Other M is one of my all-time favourite Wii games. Having Platinum doing a sequel would make me implode out of sheer excitement. Until I realize it's the team that did that Turtles game.

Just the thought of playing a new Metroid Prime game with modern controls is so tempting. I'm pretty sure this sits on top of my wishlist right now, closely followed by a new main Zelda game and a new 3D Mario game.

If it doesn't have the exact same controls as the Gamecube games I'm not interested.

I’d like the option to have gyro or even wii-type pointer controls with the joycons. That was the best way to play the first.

Yep, detective stuff aside, it's the brilliant Fusion done right in third person. If they announced another one of these instead of MP4, I'd  be more than happy. Hell, they could keep the Japanese daytime melodrama stuff in as well if they wanted - didn't stop me finishing it four times.

Yeah I'd be pretty disappointed if it had dual analogue aiming. I dont mind a bit of manual aiming with gyro or whatever but I'd prefer a lock-on auto-aim.

Obviously take this was a shovel of salt, but on Reddit someone has DM'ed a mod on /GamingLeaksAndRumours stating:

'Do you think everyone is primed and ready?'

This same person hinted in the same manner announcements for; Skyward Sword, Wario Ware, Splatoon 3 and Zelda which were all correct as they had Directs announced just after.

Metroid Prime Trilogy if anything, I’d imagine, but then we’ve had that rumour every year since the Switch came out, six years ago

Yeah i saw that last week - makes it sound like we might found out sooner than later. Direct for January?

 

Let's me honest - this year is looking pretty barren for the switch. There needs to be a big game released Feb/March if Zelda isn't till May. 

 

Current rumors are that Zelda will be the last big game for the Switch before a new Switch in 2024 (which doesn't sound right, surely they can't just stop supporting switch with major titles for 9 months).
