I’d wager it depends on how far out this is. A generous estimate would put it as a Holiday 2021 title so I personally wouldn’t expect Trilogy until June/July 2021 in that case... : /

I think it would be sooner than that. The three Prime games are pretty lengthy. I'd imagine if they released it too close to Prime 4, they'd run the risk of people being burnt out by them.

I'd guess there would be a year between a Trilogy release and Prime 4.

Metroid Prime Hunters DX

I'd buy that! A nice Switch update would be amazing. I got a lot of enjoyment out of Hunters and a move to a console with 'proper' controls would make it much more welcoming. What a wonderful project that would be for a dev to convert.

Metroid Prime 4 was still listed as a 2020 game at the shareholders meeting a couple of weeks ago.

No it wasn't. Given development was completely restarted in January last year, expecting it this year is wishful thinking at best (or it's not going to even be close to being similar in scope to the previous Prime games).

They should be looking at MP4 as a launch window release for the next console and focus on the alleged 2D Metroid and remastered trilogy for Switch.

After all this time it deserves better than to come out at the tail end of the Switch’s life. I want it to have some of that sexy next gen 1080p/60fps (dynamic, of course, I’m not greedy) Nintendo power.

The tail end of the Switch's life is still several years away. They still can't make enough to keep them in stock in the shops.

I have my doubt about this but I can't think of many things that would make me happier than this right now.

So hope this is true, my life needs this trilogy.

How come? I don't think its delay indicates that. Nintendo have the philosophy of announcing within 6 months to a year of release, and this is the game they say they announced too early so they won't be making that same mistake twice. Also it's what Retro's working full-time on at the moment. It'll come, at the most it might be a TP/BotW situation if development drags.

Weirdly I'm looking forward to the Trilogy way more than 4. Always wanted to replay Prime 1 and I never finished 2. Didn't get on with 3 because of the waggly waggle (a personal thing, plz don't start) so I would love to dive into it with normal controls. If 4 is also good that would be a nice bonus.

Edit: @Benny I didn't see your post
