Monster Hunter: World

Recommended Posts

When should I be trying to kill Anjanath? I've only done the first mission in the next area. I've been playing with the hammer tonight, got myself a nice poison Blooming Hammer and I just destroyed a Great Jagras and then a Yu-Ku Yaki or whatever it's called, great fun!

What's the point of the Guild Card list? As far as I can see you can't message/invite/see who's online from it, unless I'm missing something?

1) Theres a trophy for getting 50 guild cards from other people

2) When in a game, when your doing hunts/quests/whatever you will sometimes see other players Palico's out in the world who will join you on hunts with your Palico. Have had a few join me so far - Baal being the most notable one, whoevers that is - sorry I have no clue without checking everyone's guild card. He may not even be a mukkers, as I have randoms on my list too.

The currently available 6* Event Quest should in no way be 6*, and can be run through in a couple of minutes. The Eyepatch it allows you to craft is pretty cool, as it has 2 slots to put Decorations on to. My 2nd run through of the quest gave me 2 of the special mats, and a Fire Res Decoration. Definitely one to get done before it goes.

Anjanath down on second attempt. Quite a tough fight, but not impossible, just need to carve him up and make some clothes out of him for some fire resist gear.

The Zorah Magdaros bit was odd, as it starts you off at that ballista area, but I couldnt find the item box anywhere until I got ko'd by Nergigante. You'd think the game would put you close to it at the start, as I had limited healing items due to not realising what was coming. Also my Palico decided to mimic my cat in real life during the entire Nergigante sequence - refused to heal me, at all for some reason. Got a fair few items out of it though, and will remember to carry full healing items into non hunting missions from now on!

I ended the night escorting Len from here as he bumbled along carrying a big monster egg as irate herbivores attacked in waves. What you didn't see, Len, was that at one point there was an absolutely massive one chasing us but it buggered off back to their home! I also wonder if the birdlike big monster will steal the egg if you drop it? It says in their description they like to steal eggs.

Bumbled is the word. I didn't think or realise you could climb with an egg hence why I sloped off round the corner to try and find another entrance.  Thanks for help though! :)

So instead of doing anything except the story quests I finally sorted Zorah out (all those parts are very odd) and oh, hello. The real MH really does start here. Wonderful. :)

Now i know and have my eye on the really wild stuff.

Oh and finally sorted expeditions out as described helpfully by all earlier. Think for some reason it hadn't updated when i unticked the boxes until I restarted the game. Well, that's what I'm going with anyway. Makes total sense now.

I picked up a quest or investigation in Wildspire last night that I can't find on any of the lists of things available to me,I have to collect ants or something. Anyway, checked Investigation (with the Bounty people), not there and then checked quests (both assigned and optional) and it wasn't there either.

Sounds like you spoke to the woman out on a Wildspire expedition. Use your Capture Net to get the ants, talk to her again, and select 'Delivery' when next in Astera and talking to the people you get your investigations and bounties from.

I'll look to see if she's out there again. Didn't know that that's what the net was used for though :)

Put some hours into this but hit a wall with Anjanath single player. Glad to be honest as it means I need to really look at the crafting and armour options. Beat him on the beta so know it's inferior equipment holding me back. Was finding it a bit easy up to this point. Love the world and the whole living environment. Reminds me of Xenoblade Chronicles and have already had loads of awesome emergent moments when turf wars break out. Started with sword and shield but have now graduated to hammers. Clearly need to do some farming to upgrade for some status effects and elemental protection armour. Bounced off Tri on the Wii and found the 3ds one uncomfortable but this is beginning to take over. Planning quests and investigations whilst I'm supposed to be working :) Hoping to get a full grip on it before I venture into multiplayer.

Yeah that video is really really helpful, that's what I spent last night doing, getting everything in order etc...

I've also got multiple Switch-Axes now (and attached them to different loadouts) so I can follow the upgrade trees and have different weapons for different jobs

About seven or eight hours in. I'm sending up SOS flares to help me out with monsters now as when I post assignments there never seems to be anyone around. SOS seems to work though.

Moved onto the sword-axe thing which I'm liking. Still have no idea how I'm pulling off the leaping super moves with various weapons where you glow yellow for a bit. In fact the combat is still mostly a mystery for me outside of the basic moves.

Hoping that when I get into traps it feels a bit more varied as at the moment I'm kind of longing for some Horizon style preparation before just starting to pummel away.

I was going to ask about the Limited bounties. This week’s third option still reads ‘????’ for me and I’ve done what feels like a fair bit of story missions since the first prerequisite.

What is the third one (spoiler, if spoilers)?

Question marks apart from the last which is to finish all the others... Must need to be further in. Cheers :)

Ah you've got them - they're just not right for you.

I don't think you'll be getting them this week - some of them is 5 7* Beasts :(

As far as I know, the rewards are vendor fodder.

The final reward from this weeks bounties is a ticket that lets you meld a rare gem from any monster you have faced, def not vendor fodder.

Last night I managed to charge blade super Pink Rathian out of the sky as she flew towards me, it was the coolest thing I have ever done in the 1000+ hours I have played these games, I somehow managed to lose the clip as I fumbled with the share button so now any Rathian fight has become a reckless quest to recreate that exact moment, one day it'll happen.
