Is Manfredo supposed to be any good?

He's a journeyman fighter who's been elevated because of that 'Contender' show.

You never know though - despite Calzaghe not losing forever, it only needs one punch I suppose.

Although I definitely wouldn't be betting against him.

the need to shop giving khan cans, and they should have kept it going and left manfredo get dropped. Contender was a good show, but really, none of them will be true contenders.

The guy was just standing, almost kneeling, there getting punched. Seemed a bit premature but when the guy's offering no resistance like that, what's the ref supposed to do?

America should see a proper Calzaghe fight with this Taylor one that Warren was talking about. Doesn't look like Kessler is on, but Taylor or even Hopkins would be wonderful.

Does anyone know who is showing Mayweather - De La Hoya here?

It is clear there was only going to be one winner of the fight. However, Manfredo wasn't hurt and he wasn't having the snot beaten out of him either. He was pinned against the ropes and Joe was letting go with his pitter-patter routine. Which entails him throwing his hands as fast as possible, mixing in the occasional hard punch. He wasn't sitting down on his punches and hurting Manfredo. Although I agree he wasn't offering anything back, the stoppage was premature. The Americans will take any excuse they can get to have a pop at Calzaghe. He really isn't rated over there and is seen as a duck artist. Simply because he's British.

DLH Vs Mayweather will be pay per view on Sky Box Office, no doubt.

I haven't checked this but I'm pretty sure it'll start at 2am. The main event won't be until around 4am, though. The under card is decent and we'll probably be getting a lot of analysis and hype throughout to keep it interesting enough till fight time. I can't wait for this. On paper this is the biggest fight that's been made in over twenty years, something I've wanted to see since Mayweather first suggested it some five years ago. Up until they'd both signed I never believed it would come off.

I'm hella excited about this, but having said that, I'm not convinced that I'll make it to the start of the show, let alone the main event at my ripe old age. I fear I'll have to get the old man to record it on one of those old-fangled VHS tapes.

Mayweather was quite heavily favoured at first but quite a few experts in America have gone for Oscar over the last week or so. I won't be joining them, though. I think Mayweather's just too talented. I don't feel the size advantage will mean as much as some say it will and I can see Oscar starting well but Floyd will find his stride and pick holes in Oscar on his way to a decision. Oscar always seems to fade in the last 3-4 rounds of the fight and Floyd's fit enough to take advantage of that.

Should be a great fight, though and I'll be happy for whoever wins as I'm a big fan of them both.

Come on Golden Boy!!!! Mayweather's a CUNT!

I'm quite excited actually. I'm not sure if it's cool to get excited about strong half naked men hurting each other, but fuck it, I AM!
