On the Japanese RPG front, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Resonance of Fate are all must haves. The rest of them aren't bad either Magna Carta II, Nier, The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery.

 

There's also Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Tales of Vesperia, Enchanted Arms & Eternal Sonta but all four got better ports with extra content on the PS3.

While I've still got one of the early HDMI 20gig models kicking about I really want to pick up the Star Wars R2D2 360 with the gold controller... I've seen some come and go for under £100. 

 

One day it'll be mine!

Probably my favourite console since the Dreamcast, it's still my main console, I don't want to give it up due to the 100+ digital titles I have on it. I had one soon after its release with Oblivion, Dead Rising and DOA 4. Soon sold it as I was more busy with my studies and socialising as I'd just started my undergrad.

 

When I finished my postgrad I picked one up again with Skyrim and it's been my only console since. Some of my favourite games ever are on the system; Skyrim, fable 2, beautiful katamari,     Red dead redemption, and its doubled up as my retro gaming machine with some real classics, guardian heros, nights, outrun 2, bubble bobble, jet set radio, sf third strike, Garou mark of the wolves... basically a damn good system.

Couple of weeks ago when it was first linked I went to have a look at a few titles which were listed as being on discount, still in date and... they weren't. Do you check the dates rather than just the prices?

Bit of a poor innings since April, with the Next about to hit not had any cash available to spend on bundles but... has given me a chance to play through the pile I've already built. Heard lots of good things about Kingdom of Amalur Reckoning but I spent a couple of hours on it today and I was almost sick to my stomach. The camera is just weird and seems to have this odd wavey lag that I can't shake, even messing with the sensitivity didn't help much (but it did improve). Not had this issue with any other game so I had to give up :(

 

I seem to be addicted to this Sega MEga Drive Ultimate Collection. It's one of the best retro compilations I've ever seen and worth playing for the unlockables alone, having to complete tasks to open up arcade ROMs, interviews and other extras is a fantastic idea. I've been stuck for ages trying to get 80K on Flicky to open something up but was chuffed at getting Golden Axe Warrior. Wish there were more collections like this!

It's great. It's just a shame the 360 pad is fucking awful for it.

How is the arcade version of Space Harrier on that? I have it on the PS3 and the emulation is woeful with horribly out of tune music. (Imagine that. Imagine being the company that made Space Harrier, with its classic soundtrack, and then sticking it on a disc as a bonus and not giving a fuck about whether it actually worked properly. Sega is beyond hope.) I went through the fandango of getting around the back of the telly to plug in the 360 this weekend -- no small task -- as I fancied a bit of Unreal Championship 2* and Deathsmiles (and have ended up back on Portal 2, so good!), hence might have a quick peruse of CEX's 2nd hand offerings tomorrow.

 

 

*Until the Xbone/Scorpion can run this original Xbox game, my 360 will never be unseated.

I do love the 360, bought close to launch out of my Rare hype alone, tons of good memories, chasing achievements the first couple years especially.

 

I'm not sure I can care about physical games for it like other retro stuff. I'd rather just fill a (how big would it need to be? 10tb?) HDD in this particular case. Likewise the build quality of the systems themselves makes me wonder how long my Slim will last. Looking back I do kind of miss the original design, I'd even bothered with memory cards for it in the day. HDD increases, every cable under the sun...The original wireless headset was rubbish.

I'd suspect the HDMI model of the original design might be the RA3E going forward, but perhaps not, considering Component models were the ones red ring'ing.

 

Nostalgia-wise, I miss the purer old versions of the UI, the blades UI was wonderful.

 

50+ games on the shelf, it's still my Street Fighter system thanks to not updating my arcade stick, shame to know the games are currently sod all value but that's to be expected I suppose. 20 years till they're worth anything though, I doubt I could be arsed.
