So... what are the interesting games? Anything odd and a bit bizarre that sticks in your minds people? DJ Hero is probably the first that comes to my mind.

Some early XBLA games for me:

A Kingdom for Keflings - stress-free town building thingie.

Shadow Complex - the best Metroid game in years.

Carcassonne - the board game, only much easier to count up the fields :)

Marble Blast Ultra - one part Tony Hawk, one part Marble Madness

Outpost Kaloki X - underrated base building strategy game

Yaris - hHAHAHahahahahaha no

I was very late to the 360 party, having decided to stick with Sony for the PS360 generation. Mostly due to Gran Turismo, both of which were disappointing, truth be told. I bought a chipped 360 off someone on here (pavey, I think?) and almost immediately wondered why I hadn't bought one sooner. The immediate attraction was the Forza series, which are amazing games. Horizon was a particular stand out title for me.

XBLA was a revelation as well. Some fantastic retro stuff in there. Though the odd update to Speedball 2 seemed unnecessary and put mo off playing it, I preferred the ps3 version.

The big thing, though, was the controller. I never really got on with the original Xbox pad. It just never felt right to me. But the 360 pad is, I think, the best controller iI've used. The grip and layout is just right, the triggers are brilliant for racing games and it just feels really solid - i didn't realise how flimsy the dual shocks are until I used a 360 pad.

DJ Hero 2 is better, much better and if you can get the DJ Hero 2 controller, it's more reliable. There's no cosmetic difference so best be is to look for a bundle with controler and DJH2.

Peggle 1/2 - XBLA it's panchinco pinball

Ghostbusters - it IS Ghostbusters 3

I remember buying DJ Hero for something like £80... i got bored of it pretty quickly. I did end up getting a second hand copy of DJ Hero 2 but i don't think i put much time into it.

Peggle! What a classic. Loved this on xbox. Is peggle 2 out on pc yet? I really should check.

Ghostbusters.. again great game but i got stuck at the end of the game (graveyard?) and never got passed it. I did end up buying the game on the pc so one day i must try again.

The trouble with collecting huge numbers of games for more modern consoles is that the chance of actually playing them properly is small compared to collecting eg 8-bit games.  And I say this as someone with literally hundreds of 360 games.

I've been trying to come up with something to do for the next 1000 vids on my Youtube channel. Might be a good start to maybe go through each game in order and film me playing for a bit. Could make collecting more interesting.

I actually want to play it

You can actually still get it, as the game was a free download all you need to do is find a site that hosts the trial for download, transfer that via a 360 formatted USB to you 360 and away you go. As the game was free it will work fine on any Xbox360, same with trials of delisted games, but you can't upgrade them to the full version, as Yaris was a free XBLA title it will unlock the full game automatically. You can do the same for Doritos Dash of Destruction, which is also now long gone.

As for patches, as number of websites hosts the patches now and there is a way to transfer them from your PC to the 360 fairly easily now.

Just looking at Darren's post I see he owns one game I worked on and was credited for, just wish it had sold better.

Not Wartech, but a great racer with ATVs in the form of PURE, marketing made a huge mistake in releasing it against The Force Unleashed. Not the first 360 game I was credited on but the best I feel I worked on.

I do feel sorry for the guys at Black Rock and how they where treated when Disney shut them down.

I love pure :) and you are right, it never should have got released when it did.

I'll give you a quick bit of trivia on the game, most of the songs used in the game where added into the game fairly early on, however during the last month or so we had to removed the song Woman from Wolfmother. It was the only song removed as I recalled and I have to remind myself that it got pulled as we spent so long listening to the song in the game. It does however feature in a number of other games on 360 but was pulled from PURE.

Awesome lot. Were any of those expensive?

When I purchased them they cost between £1 and £5. The most expensive was battle for middle earth 2 at a tenner.

I've compiled what I think is a current list of every PAL title including a list at the bottom of PAL exclusives which has a surprising few. Now this list is up to date as of 27th March but there's bound to be the odd title that will slip out that I'm not aware of.

Link

I sourced most of it from the official Xbox Achievements website, seeing as every game had them they were listed here so it's double takes as an accurate list. I coudln't find anything more complete so we are stuck with mine.

So Lorfarius if you want a complete list you should check out True Achievements this link is a search for every 360 game every released, it does double up some game, which have achievements in multiple regions, but the list in total is for 2338. Removing doubles I'd say you have around 2100 games currently on the system. This includes both digital (live & removed) and retails titles:

https://www.trueachievements.com/gameslist.aspx?platform=xbox+360

It contains all the missing titles I've see on your own list such as Shooting Love 10th Anniversary, Shooting Love 200X and Game Center Love. ~Plus Pengo!~

The only games it won't include are titles that don't have achievements, but all official games did have to carry them as it was an Xbox 360 Standard and no game would have passed certification without them. So mini-games like Warhog launch  which is included on the second disc of the Halo 3 Limited Edition, won't be included, but the question is do you class this as an official release or part of Halo 3 LE.

Looking at the quality of the video I think I need to do my own one.

So I called in Game this morning  thinking I'd spend a nice chunk of cash, even had £100 in my wallet to go nuts with. They had a 3 for 2 offer with the cheapest being free and as I started pulling the games out (this were all preowned) the prices were nuts. Copies of Fifa 08/09 for £5 when every other shop knows they are trash and sells them for 50p a time, Shadow of Mordor.... £17! Assassins Creed 3 which they had about 10 copies of.... £14.... who the hell would buy that? GTA V for £15, even a couple of Madden games from 10 years ago were a fiver. Absolute madness... they had shelves of them so no wonder they aren't selling.

Now there were a few cheaper titles for as little as £1.49 (we are talking Dance Central types) but I was so annoyed with the rip off prices I just refused to buy anything. So I went next door to Grainger Games and bought a load there. I spent about £8 and ended up with all of the ACreed games bar number 2 which they didn't have. But I know where I'll be going in future.
