Leaving soon:

Ring of Pain
Echo Generation
Into The Pit

Bloodroots

Sable
The Good Life

Bugger. Looks like I'm going to miss out on Sable. I'm getting to the point with GP now that there's so much stuff I can't get to it in time!

Definitely. I've said it before, but give us a bit more a heads up before it goes. A month rather than two weeks, at least.

Well I've played an hour of Sable this evening, and it seems very pleasant, so I'll keep on with it and try to get it done before it disappears. I wanted to try Bloodroots, too, but I doubt I'll get to it now.

What's guaranteed to stay forever, or at least for a long old while? MS Studios stuff, Bethesda games, Activision games - anything else? I still need to try Doom Eternal. And Guardians of the Galaxy. And Like a Dragon. And Outer Wilds...

Doom Eternal should be fine since it's Bethesda. Rule of thumb for everything else is give it a year. So check what was announced for Game Pass before twelve months ago to plan accordingly.

Bloodroots is really good and fairly quick with its instant get wrong and repeat mechanic. Easily doable in the 2 week window.

Doom Eternal is likely to be permanent, the Yakuza games tend to end up crazy cheap so worth picking up on deep discount rather than worrying how long they stay on Gamepass. Guardians will likely to get a year so I’d play sooner rather than later mainly as it’s great

Just play The Outer Wilds, it surpasses just being a fun gamepass game to being an incredible, unique must play experience. A game I still think about 2 years after completion, with world class DLC.

Yes - I've heard how incredible it's supposed to be. I absolutely adore games like Obra Dinn, The Witness and Disco Elysium, too, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to like it.

There were times I wanted to throw my controller at the TV, but that's not what stays.

You'd love it.

I'm enjoying Sable. It's got a really calming ambience to it, which is lovely at the end of a very long day. It's a shame it's so stuttery, though. I'm playing on XSX and have turned anti-aliasing off to try to improve it, but it's not made much of a difference, seemingly.

Still, I'm liking the gentle exploring and just generally vibing out with it.

I've tried to play it twice but it's a technical mess, even with the next gen patch. I'll try again at some point.

Same. I never saw the Outer Wilds hype. I really wanted to like it.

Elsewhere on Gamepass, am really enjoying You Suck At Parking still. Not fussed on the online vs mode, but the single player campaign mode has an inbuilt challenge to perfect every stage on each island, and it is very satisfyingly moreish seeing that gold symbol appear next to the overworld map. I also have been replaying every stage / perfecting them until I hit a sub-1000 on the leaderboards, which hasn't been as arduous as it sounds. An arbitrary number admittedly, but based on a guesstimate of what is obtainable and what I can do.

Am on Island 3 now and basically any perfected level gets you under 1000 no matter how slow you are, I assume because it's gotten balls to the wall hard (the unlockable Arctic world even more so). My best has been top 20 on two stages and top 50 on another, I believe.

It can be a bit grindy but you genuinely do feel like your control and skill increases with the practice, aiding you in future stages. Great 'quick blast' gaming fun.

PS one mini criticism - the overworld navigation is dogshit (nothing like falling into the sea forty times even just trying to navigate yourself to the next proper stage, ffs) and why they thought it was a good idea boggles my mind.

This is a very specific issue, but has anyone successfully played with a friend when both gaming with xCloud on PC's? Me and a friend both have game pass and since we only had an hour and not the time to download / install locally, tried playing Chivalry 2 on xCloud. It worked well right up until the point when we tried to play together. I could send him an invite and vice-versa, but each time Windows suddenly kicked in and said it didn't know how to deal with the file extension. This is most likely because it's wanting it to be installed locally to kick it off, but we were both running in the cloud. We also tried pressing the Xbox button but that just brought up the equivalent of Windows Button + G which again is the local windows version of Xbox.

There seemed to be no way to connect two people via cloud games as there was no "cloud" version of invite management / joining games. This is probably a known limitation but just curious if anyone had got it working?

I finished As Dusk Falls yesterday and thought it was really good right up to the

ending, which was a bit of a disappointment. But not enough to spoil the experience. A very effective way to tell a choose your own adventure type story.

I haven't tried this, but is it possible to send invites via the xbox app on your phone/tablet. Although maybe that isn't the solution as you are already able to send invites. I just wondered if you could accept them in the app if you are both already in the same game.

The stuttering got too much for me, unfortunately (see the Abandoned Games thread).

Time to give Tinykin a go instead. I'm expecting great things.

Where the hell is Medieval Dynasty? Supposed to be out today.

It's not even in the store for predownload or sale.

Heard good things about it and wouldn't mind a relaxing experience after just finishing Dark Souls Remastered for the first time.

You can install remotely via the Xbox website. Saw that on reddit and still seems to be the only way - mobile app doesn't work either.
