I hated Virginia, I thought it thought it was much more clever than it was.

I'm really enjoying nearly everything about The Last Stop though, I think it looks beautiful and real in its own way. I'm not liking the script all that much though, I'm finding it clunky and the responses are almost LA Noire level of not matching what you select (though I think choices only matter in the final chapter?) I'd love to see more games in this style, it's very sedate gaming.

I still think they could've left out the odd little interactions though (making tea or running in the park). They don't add anything to the experience and won't convince people who don't think it's a game to change their opinion.

This is good to hear as I felt that Virginia was a little bit too pleased with itself throughout and that really made me not want to try The Last Stop. Will definitely give it a look now though!

It's scrappier, but that's both to its benefit as well as its detriment.

StS feels very tightly controlled and honed, as you say, but that means it lacks the mad shit that can pop off on Monster Train.

The scrappiness is a lot of fun.

A lot of the reason Monster Train feels scrappier than Slay the Spire is because at low levels it's a lot easier, and there are a huge number of different combinations of clans and champions to try out. So you can more or less blast through with any old combination of cards, then move onto a completely different set and do the same again.

Once you get to the higher Covenants, though, it gets much harder, you'll start focusing on one combination of clans, and that's when you really get to learn the cards and their interdependencies. It doesn't quite have Slay the Spire's precision, but it's not as far off as it's often made to be. I've spent the last week working my way up to Covenant 18 with a Melting Remnant/Hellhorned combo, and there's not been a single game where I haven't learned something new and refined my approach in some way.

Also, worth pointing out that the Last Divinity DLC is excellent. Adds a new clan, a new super-boss (analagous to The Heart in Slay the Spire) and a great new risk/reward mechanic that lets you gain extra rewards and even merge units but also buffs the enemies in return.

Finished and enjoyed Last Stop but with the issues others have mentioned. Not so much of a game, more a story with button presses. Entertaining freebie.

Currently enjoying Omno despite a bit of initial frustration with the jump button not always working when near a platforms edge.

I'm absolutely loving Dodgeball Acedemia. It's just such a lovely game. Deserves more attention.

It's got a really brilliant and fun battle system and just makes it a joy to play. Feels a bit like Windjammers.

All this talk of Last Stop made me download it and give it a go.  Sure, it's not a game as such, but it's the most interestingly presented piece of interactive fiction I've seen.  I ended up playing through the first 2 chapters of each character - really enjoying it

It’s

been sensational so far. I’m at the end of Chapter 5 and a lot of really funny stuff has happened. I love how the game kinda deels like a saturday morning cartoon show and that each day divides each episode with their own quests and side quests to be solved.
The only thing I’ve been missing is slightly more variety in locations

Played through Omno in one sitting last night. An enchantingly tranquil and touching delight from start to finish and a pretty amazing achievement from a single person. Lovely little game well worth 4 hours of anyone’s time and yet another of those £15 indie gems that would have passed me by had it not been a part of the service.

It was always a looker, but it looks very impressive with this update. Lighting consistency is a real thing.

frame rate might be that little bit too low for me though.

Tried it on the series S earlier.  Tried all modes and ended up preferring the Enriched mode.  Improved detail/lighting and Ray traced reflections make it worth the trade of imo.  60fps is nice in performance though, but for this sort of game 30fps is fine for me. At least they covered all bases and gave the player the choice of what they want.

Hi guys,

Appreciate this probably gets asked regularly, but my game pass expires in a few weeks. Do the instructions on the first page still work? Buy 3 x 12 gold codes when my sub elapses and convert to ultimate for 10.99?

Which, if any, of all those interchangeable Codemasters racing games are worth playing?

All are decent enough. I have not played Grid so will be downloading that.

F1 2020 is great and better than the new game in some aspects.

Grid is a good effort at what it is, it's obvious the series needs to try something like Legends.

Dirt 5 is just dull, play 4.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is rock hard but great if you can handle it.

There's nothing "wrong" with the F1 game as a generic F1 game, even if it's not a simulation of 2020.
