I'm really interested in 12 Minutes but I feel like it's the kind of game there will be no middle ground for. It's so high concept it'll either knock it out of the park or people will be incredibly disappointed.

I'm also really interested in the game. I expect a noble failure where the structure doesn't quite work, but I really hope the dev smashes it.

(my turn) - You can all thank me for buying Katamari a couple of weeks ago when it was on sale for the first time ever. Expect to see Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory on Game Pass next month too.

I must share the responsibility after buying Katamari in the same sale!

art of rally is amazing. If you've never played it, you are in for a treat.

Looks a bit like Lonely Downhill but with cars. Is that a good comparison? I liked that game.

I once said to the developers they should do a crossover.

They are similar only in looks. I did a video a while back.

I’ve very nearly finished Last Stop and just want to say it’s absolutely brilliant. Not that much of a game but as an interactive drama I really can’t fault it. I reserve the right to retract this statement if the denouement ruins it.

One of the many things I’ve enjoyed so far is the text-free but clearly recognisable food packets, DVD covers etc. Such attention to detail in what’s obviously a labour of love.

Yep! I even found the you know what in the bedside cabinet.

Just finished it. Loved it. I don’t know what I was expecting from the last chapter but

Spoiler

a totally alien world with loads of different alien species milling about, that only got used at the very end of the game

definitely wasn’t it.

What choices did everyone make? I might play the last chapter again and choose the opposites to see if and how it affects the story.

I chose what I thought were the “right” options, which were

Spoiler

John: swap back

Donna: refuse the deal

Meena: resign and face the music

But apart from the first one, the others were proper moral dilemmas, which was another unexpected element.

Is it wrong to say I’d love a sequel?

Finished Last Stop this evening and found it quite the drop in quality from Virginia unfortunately. Perhaps the confusing weirdness of their earlier game is something that just speaks to me more, but beyond a very well-judged representation of London I didn't find anything all that engaging in the newer game.

Says it better than I can.

For me, Skate 1 felt the most realistic (and had the best overall artistic approach). The games do look quite different from each other, weirdly.

It’s so weird looking back and seeing how much better, cooler and overall more like a late ‘90s skate video the first game looks compared to the flatter, game-looking sequels.

what I've realised with gamepass is how little time I actually spent playing games over the last few years - my 'hobby' had become buying new games and playing the first hour or so of them before moving on.

I thought it mattered what those games were but I haven't bought anything on Switch or PS5 since my X series arrived a few months back - I get a constant stream of new things to have a look at and its a good combo of bigger budget flashy stuff and quirky indies.

Every now and then something mega will stick like Flight Sim but its just so perfect as a concept for somebody like me who really just wants to see some new software and have a mess about with it.

Played the first couple of chapters of Last Stop last night and I love it, in all its shonky low-budget Britishness. It's like Life is Strange made for a budget of £5 and a Greggs sausage roll. I keep expecting to see the Tardis in the background of every shot. Didn't get on with Virginia at all so this is a really nice surprise.

I just saw the credits roll and I loved it. Pretty sure there's a McCoy Who fan involved with the story because

Spoiler

The trial on the alien planet was 100% taken from Greatest show in the galaxy with more budget.

Not Dead Cells. Curse of the Dead Gods.

You know, for some reason in my brain I had completely made up the info that Curse of the Dead Gods was DLC for Dead Cells.

I have seen people compare Dead Cells to Hades unfavourably though, for some reason.

Well, my first week of Gamepass has yielded the result I kind of expected with me going through the list and saying "that one, and that one, and that one" etc.  But it's also a great way of testing things out and feeling nothing about removing content either.  I've been playing MS Flight Sim every day (which I why I ended up on Gamepass in the first place) and of the various games I downloaded to try.  SSX can go - I like a snowboarding game, but not like that, and Sakte 3 - I enjoyed the original Skate, but Skate 3 seems less of a game.  The one that has really stuck though is Maneater - I love sharks, so it's great fun being one and eating everything.   The tongue-in-cheek aspect of the game aside, they've done a lovely job on the animation.  It doesn't look too long either - I'm about 60% through the game (I've just taken out the Great White Apex)

Will everything you can download today eventually go, or does some stuff stay forever.  I still haven't played the whole of the original FFVII (I finished the remake) so I downloaded that to play on a nice upscaled resolution... but that's disappearing soon, so I won't get the chance.

Games last for various lengths of time on the service but are usually there for a good few months minimum, often at least a year, sometimes multiple years. It depends on the original deal and any agreed extensions, and we have no sight of either, so the first we hear of a game leaving Game Pass is when it's announced a few weeks beforehand. Anything first party, though (so that's Microsoft Game Studios releases and now Bethesda stuff too), will be on Game Pass forever in theory, unless it's one of the Forza games. With those, there is an 'end of life' point that matches the length of the licensing deals with car manufacturers. For example, Forza 7 is about to be delisted.

Perfect for Game Pass then.

Does Last Stop have a decent ending or is it a bit Virginia-ish? I thought that was great up until the final chapter and then it just went to hell in a handcart.

Proper ending but defo leaves things set up for another one IMO

Installed a few new random games for the install from app quest. I try to use it properly rather than fudge it to find new stuff.

Blinx is indeed crap, from the off as soon as you find the turning the camera control is the wrong way around and there is no invert.

I bounced off Hotshots Racing before, but this time I stuck. I only installed it again because it was small.  I must have played it on the cloud last time and was rubbish at it. This time I got the hang of it and it's pretty fun.

How have I never played Crimson Skies before? It's amazing, and apart from the UI it looks pretty sharp at a higher res.

Like a lot of people here, I'm using Omno as something to get an achievement every day. Lovely little game. Puzzles always feel solvable but satisfying. That's so hard to get right.

I'm going to like CrisTales when I get around to it. I kind of want to play it on the Switch instead though as I reckon I'll get more time to play it in bursts.

Anyway, blah blah, Mostly wanted to tell people to play Crimson Skies even though it's original xbox.
