Yeah, the only time I've experienced it is with Forza Horizon 4 where it's entirely flawless, you just get a brief pop up when you change systems while it downloads the save file, takes maybe 10 seconds most of the time even on my shit for internet.

There's a surprising amount of cross save games though, some of which aren't even listed as "Play Anywhere". I was surprised when I loaded up No Man's Sky for instance, and saw it synchronising with my Xbox save.

Other recent games I noticed were Spiritfarer, Children of Morta and the Halo MCC,

It's great for RPGs and tactics games. I played through the original Bards Tale and I'm almost done with Mutant: Year Zero, no hitches at all. Works well although feels a bit fragile and janky on the Windows side where you get loads of system windows popping up to tell you it's syncing etc.

Are any of you using game streaming on a 2.4 GHz connection?

I went and bought a controller for cloud streaming and it's just unplayable on my 2.4ghz connection and I don't see any option to change it in my WiFi settings.

I have a good connection and was thinking it shouldn't be this unplayable. Is there any kind of workaround?

Sit next to your router and try not to move?

Just been fiddling with Carrion for a couple of hours. Score another one for “games I would never buy [until they were in a Humble Bundle] but I’m thoroughly enjoying”. I spent a lot of time slurping around the walls and backtracking while not being sure where to go, which definitely isn’t ideal, but it’s so quick and fun to navigate that it’s a lot less of an issue. And you also get the same feeling of being a Horrible Goose, except being a Horrific Amorphous Blob when torturing and tearing apart puny humans, which is great fun. If it cost money (properly) I’d be quite cautious recommending it, but as it’s Game Pass it’s a strong Worth A Go/10.

I’ve had my eye on this and was enjoying reading your review. Then you compared it to that fucking goose game and you’ve put me right off.

Who is your broadband provider? My router from Sky was single band, so phoned up and told them I needed a newer router and they sent one out. Doesn't do any harm to say your speed isn't what it should be either...

It's the new sky router. It's definitely 5ghz enabled.

I think it's my phone that doesn't have it. Oh well.

But the Controller up for sale in the trading thread if anyone is interested.

They’re really, really not similar apart from making cuntery into good fun.

Not that I can see. It says join for £1, then says £10.99 at checkout. I've missed the boat haven't I?

Have you previously redeemed the £1 offer? If so it's £10.99, but should convert your 2 years Live to 2 years GPU (unless they've closed the loophole).

I might have done. Fuck it, it's only £11 and I can cancel. Let's see what happens.

Edit: But first I may as well add on another year of Gold.

Edit 2: "You've reached the limit of how far you can extend this." FFS. It must be the free month they added with Auto Renew.

Edit 3: Xbox GPU – Next charge £10.99 on 09/01/2023. That'll do.

My Game Pass doesn't expire for another month, so at this point I'm basically hoping that I can still pick up some cheap Gold from ShopTo, and that the £10.99 upgrade trick still works.

I could always buy the Gold now, but if Microsoft decide to put a stop to the trick (which I doubt, but still) then it becomes a very expensive way to get more Game Pass.

The PC version of Forza 7 is ready for download via Game Pass on the Microsoft Store :omg:

XBox App shows the game, but the link's broken.

100GB download, though. Absolute unit, but I'm looking forward to playing this after having nothing but Forza Horizon and Forza Apex on PC unless I forked out 50 quid or something absurd. I do remember playing the demo and having a hoot with the Semi Trucks, mind.

Ao.com still have some as of now.  Think shopto were being arsey about selling more than one per customer as well.

Not sure if AO properly deliver to NI, so that might be out - certainly they charge more.

We'll see how things stand next month. Thanks to having plenty of other things to play, I'm not massively fussed if I miss out on the deal, as I'll end up paying about the same over three years for ad hoc usage as I would for the Xbox Live Gold.
