I thought they were staying (e.g. like you can do Hunts and Battlegrounds now still)? or is just for the "year" they stay?

That's what they said if I recall correctly. If you remember from Year 3, they removed the seasonal activity (Sundial, Bunker thingy etc) at the end of each season and people kicked off saying they couldn't keep up the schedule and FOMO! etc so Bungie said that seasonal activities would hang around all year but the yearly expansion would reset everything and they would all go.

 

Whether they stick to that we'll see but their reasoning around around file sizes and balancing across multiple activities would indicate they'll just do a big wipe. The new season is going to last 5 months and Beyond Light will be 16 months old by the time it launches so makes sense for a reboot. I would expect maybe things like Empire Hunts to stick around, a bit like Nightmare Hunts did but ideally I'd love to see these in the strike playlist.

See Hunters are getting their seasonal glow up with the exotic buffs. Deleted so many of those Bombardiers in the past. Never learn that nothing should be deleted ever and to keep the vault at 500/500

I was going to log in with either my xblive id or steam profile name, but I reckon it makes more sense for my bungie name to be the same as (or as close to) the id on the format I mainly play on, which is Playstation. :)

The new dungeons coming in year 5 will be available to deluxe edition owners only (usually £80 but includes all the year’s season passes so I personally am okay with this). There’s also an incoming Bungie anniversary DLC, which will include a mini dungeon in the Cosmodrome accessed through the loot cave. :D

It'll be interesting if this applies to the weapon crafting. I'm not keen on going back to "levelling up" guns like in early D1 (I think it was then). If they're bringing that back just so you can pay to skip all that stuff and essentially buy your preferred/god roll ... Hmmm. That's pure conjecture on my part, to be fair.

 

Overall though, I like what I've seen. The new area looks decent, and I like where the story is going. Also, they confirmed an old raid for Xmas, it has to be Crota, right?

Oryx? Crota would be a massive disappointment to have as a revisited 'raid'

And yeah, it has to be King's Fall. I mean, as that immortal line in the Witch Queen preview put it, "You may have heard of her brother... the Taken King?" Nah, never heard of him.

 

Looking forward to buying the $99.99 bundle of deluxe Witch Queen plus this season's dungeon and exotic rocket launcher anyway.

Well, the thing about that is I actually can't! I'm the founder of what was formerly known as the Xbox and PC clan, so I can't leave it.

 

At the Overlords we've attracted a great core group and frequently raid, do dungeons, help with carries and content clearing. We also make fun of @luckypierre's ludicrously high season rank and @mikeyl's everything. It's quite a casual approach to teaming up, but we get as many clan members involved in all sorts of activities as regularly as possible, and have max ranked the clan every season since D2 launch.

 

If anyone wants to come over to the clan, please see this link after maintenance is complete or hit me up via PM. This is the time to unite the consoles! We will be raiding!

 

Raiding tonight probably unlikely but who knows what the servers will do.

I maintain your initial approach to having the clan locked down to only forumites was an error, I/we've met some great people through Destiny and it would be great to have you (entirely PlayStation I assume) folks come and play!
