I loved the old Trials mechanic where heavy ammo only comes up on the Nth round and everyone gets some. I got some strong Trials vibes yesterday, I dearly hope they bring it back as was.

yeah definitely this.

I mean stuff like Truth getting 2 rockets in survival compared to every other rocket launcher...They do all this good stuff and then just something frankly weird like that.

I'm assuming the Eriana's Vow quest is busted? It's stuck on 1%. Either that or its the biggest grind in history.

Apparently not bugged - it does speed up after you the double-rate and triple-rate progression booster items from the battle pass, but it's still a slog.

It’s a season long grind

You need the perks from the pass to make any real progress but even then it’s like 0.5-1% progress per activity (it varies by activity, think GP is highest)

I am gotta say, masterworking it is definitely worth it and not a small gain by any means.

Eeehhh, really? A few extra bullets and auto-reload after holstered for a little bit. Well colour me excited! I'm gonna grind for it right now.

God I miss Destiny 1's exotics.

Just wanted to say thanks for this. Knocked out Fabled from a standing start in about half a day yesterday. Still only on 47% wins required for the Triumph and Recluse, but that'll come soon enough.

Solo queue is indeed a godsend. I made life particularly hard for myself – playing PC on controller, Dawnblade the only objectionable part of my arsenal – but more than held my own, at least until the schools kicked out and all the hyperactive children showed up. Was a good time, though it doesn't half show up the more, erm, problematic parts of the sandbox. A good few things need another balance pass.

Hah, congrats! Of course, what this also means is that (maybe without realizing), you've now also completed the Glory requirement for the Mountaintop quest this season. So all you need to do now is equip a grenade launcher in every slot, and go to town in PvP for, i don't know, eight thousand matches.

If you see someone firing off Fighting Lion rounds like they were racquetballs during Iron Banner next week, come say hi.

Yeah I did contemplate that briefly. I like it when destiny encourages me to play differently — a bounty pushing me out of my normal loadout, stuff like that — but not when it forces me to do so for a very long time. My quest tab is generously stocked with pinnacle grinds with about 30 kills.

Plus I’m enjoying sniping too much. I want to message everyone I one-shot to tell them I’m on controller.

I don't get this. I watched the Giant Bomb quick look and part of the quests that send you to talk to people when you get to the tower sends you to the campaign npc. It was there flashing away on the map (even though they ignored it).

Problem is, there's nothing to differentiate that one glowing icon from any of the others that are now completely bombarding new players as soon as they get past the first mission. And just from a logic perspective - why put them behind Amanda Holliday? Why not create a new pillar or something very obvious in the central part of the Tower, like how the missions for the Solstice or other events get distributed, one that signals these are 'memories of prior campaigns' or something. Having to force new players run around the back alleys to find Amanda to pick up a couple of small icons to get to what is essentially *the main game* is just bad design.

Before I stopped playing I used to open Destiny 2 up and sigh at all the meaningful ways to progress being stuck behind activities I didn't really enjoy doing, or just can't do on my own / in the time I have (Raids and that), but the season pass and some of the other changes finally made this a game you can stick on for 5 minutes and achieve something in.

I like being able to load up on bounties and jump into a Lost Sector to get them done, getting a meaningful chunk of XP towards more rewards, mod unlocks and bonus power levels every time. Ophidia Spathe's double knives skill and Playing With Fire are my jam for knocking out Melee and Solar bounties in one go:

I'm not sure what's going on but I've maaged to open the shadowkeep moon missions without buying the game? Just selected moon at random this morning and voila!

Anyone out there got the same?

Is it just the first mission?
