Sorry for the goofy question but I can't seem to purchase Forsaken?  It shows as ready to download from within the game but greyed out, I've uninstalled everything and it's still the same? Any forsaken missions just bounce me to the purchase screen :(

Seems there's an issue with it at the moment: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/253774145?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1

Thanks for your report. We are aware of issues regarding purchasing the Forsaken DLC in EU regions and are working with our platform partners on a fix

A possible workaround (on PSN) is buying it via the Season of Opulence link on the PS4 dash, which apparently works:

Resetera was correct about the Vex pre-events for the quest. Do a public event on the moon and then wait around for about a minute and the Vex will invade  in almost the same place. If there's a few people there you'll get things done no trouble.

My review of the "campaign"

Short, difficult to follow, padded with makework, ends unfinished so abruptly you wonder where the next quest step is.

Visually very pretty. Gunplay as good as ever. Probably more exciting to the people who played the shit out of D1.

I do like the Vex Offensive. It's short, easy and fun to play. Curious to see what comes next given how long they've been teasing the pyramids.

I have found a new reason to keep playing this game....it is just so fucking stunning to look at and explore the world Bungie has created, running it on my PC at max settings 4K with a rock solid 60fps is just

Some screenshots I took:

..respect to the artists involved.

Try turning the frame rate cap off, it happily plays at 100+ fps on not-particularly-ninja hardware

I just noticed i have a load of old exotics which have been updated to 750. Is it possible to upgrade them so I can still use them when I am higher level and they still be effective?

When you get high level blue/purple drops you can infuse them into the exotics to bring their level up.

New raid exotic looks bananas.

Spoiler

A trace rifle that makes everything you shoot it at one gigantic crit spot.

The magical bit is that is seemingly stacks with every damage buff going

Tether, well of radiance, tractor cannon, weapons of light etc all seem to make it a great boss killer

Get ready for 'must have Divinity' lfg raiders

The raid puzzle.to get it looks like a total stress though

RAID SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY

I honestly don't get Bungie sometimes. All of the talk prior to Shadowkeep releasing was about honing in damage, making buffs/debuffs additive rather than multiplicative to stop things like Tractor Cannon and One-Two Punch melting bosses... and then they release an exotic like that, which is 100% designed to do exactly what they said they didn't want.

Then again, this is the same design team that's sliced up all of the old campaigns (Red War, CoO and Warmind) and stuck them behind Amanda Holliday, with no obvious signage for new players who would have no idea that the sparrow-lady is the go-to point for 75% of the story now contained within the game. Baffling.

I completed all the steps of the quest until I found out it ended with raid requirements. So that's another filling up my quests tab that I'll keep thinking I'll manage one day.

Agree completely. The good always outweighs the bad for me, but they make some peculiar decisions. I'm mostly disappointed that they talked a lot about getting the difficulty balance right but outside the Ordeal strike the PVE content for solo players is still way too easy.

Ended up getting Monte Carlo from a Nightfall.

As my time on the original destiny was short, I didn't quite understand what I had in my hands until @Moodmon gradually explained it over a nightfall.

Spoiler

'so, you get a chance at getting your entire melee back?'

'yes. It's reportedly... Quite frequent'

*Instantly gets back super*

'...and this works with peregrine?'

'... Yes. Also using doomfang gets a third of your super back'

'.. What were they thinking with this weapon?'

'probably the same thing as putting un-nerfed swashbuckler on it'

'... WHAT'

I'm... looking forward to vex offensive next reset.

This rings true for me. Everything’s at 750 - it’s great when you start, but after not much play I’m at about 860, and it’s all feeling pretty easy.

Im beginning to see why Bungie made Destiny 2, rather than just expanding Destiny - the game is getting so big that I can’t see how you can realistically balance it. Just in terms of PvE, there are story missions, strikes, nightfalls, Escalation Protocol, the Menagerie, that well thing in the elf city, Gambit, Vex Offensive, forges, etc. How on earth does one developer keep on top of all that?

Tried a Hero Nightfall last night and got completely flattened. There's 2 difficulties higher than that along with the same for the Nightmare strike thingies, there'll be plenty to challenge.

Protip for a couple of extra powerful drops - if you're lucky enough to find a busy instance on the moon and you can drop all 3 of the gatelords that spawn and then kill the hydra before the time runs out you get 2 powerful drops

I'm not sure what triggers the extra big hydra, but it's not just killing all three gatelords. Cos I've done that and not got it, though at other times I have. So there must be a bit more to it than that.

Yeah, we did the hero Nightfall last night and it was hugely tougher than the baby one. Not surprising, perhaps, but there is a real jump in difficulty, and obviously that's only 2 out of 4 difficulty levels. So there's some of that 'not pretty easy' content @K is looking for. It's matchmade too, but since the barrier/overload enemies take a fair amount of co-ordination randos might not always be the best thing. (I had one disastrous go with randos before three of us completed it as a fireteam, and they didn't seem to have any anti-barrier/overload stuff, and also didn't concentrate on one target at a time after I'd taken its barrier down). But that's lack of comms for you.

I quite like those barrier/overload mechanics, and doing the 920 NF was the first time I'd really had to set up my artefact and weapons properly to combat the new mechanics. When Vex Invasion dropped I expected there to be a harder version of that, but it doesn't look like that's coming until mid-late Nov. There is some more, harder stuff soon though, including tonight:

So it's all about the Nightmare Hunts for now, with Hero tonight and Legend next week, then Master the week after. I'd like to have seen Vex Offensive scaled up similarly before whatever Final Assault is in November.

These are the words of a coward and a buffoon.

I woke up this morning with 0 Glory. As of around 6:30pm this evening, I have over 2300 Glory, and one Recluse sitting in my inventory. Here are some important notes:

- I am still utter, utter shit at PvP. The worst. However, Solo Matchmaking is a godsend, and allows even fat-handed twats like me to stand a chance, because it's entirely possible you will get matched with people who are even worse at this game than you are, especially right now.

- I started playing on PC with controller, then realized that was a Very Bad Idea, before switching to PS4. Unsurprisingly, things went a lot smoother there.

- The changes to Glory points are... generous to say the least. To get to 2100 Glory, I think I only had to win a total of around 10 games or so, and that included a fair few losses. But generally speaking, I was going up one sub-rank every 2 games. The fact that each sub-rank is now a 'floor' that you can't drop below is great, but honestly, you're deducted so few points for a loss now, and you get given so many for a win that it's barely even necessary, especially if you manage to get a streak of 2 or 3 wins under your belt.

Here's the part I'm not entirely proud of.

- Striker Titan. One-Eyed Mask. Jotunn. What you will lose in self-respect, you will quickly make up for in precious eliminations. Jotunn in particular is just pure, pure filth. I lost count of the number of sniper lanes I closed down with a homing, flaming ball of death. It was very nearly one free kill per life, two if I got lucky, and was fortunate enough to face off against people who quite literally didn't see it coming. Paired that with a decent Blast Furnace pulse rifle and a grenade launcher, and I was doing what needed to be done.

Anyway, glad I did it. Recluse is lovely, even with the recent changes, and this of course all means that it'll get hit again by Bungie in two weeks. I'll make the most of it until then. If you have an afternoon to spare, go do it, because there's never been a better time.

Just wanted to say thanks for this. Knocked out Fabled from a standing start in about half a day yesterday. Still only on 47% wins required for the Triumph and Recluse, but that'll come soon enough.

Solo queue is indeed a godsend. I made life particularly hard for myself – playing PC on controller, Dawnblade the only objectionable part of my arsenal – but more than held my own, at least until the schools kicked out and all the hyperactive children showed up. Was a good time, though it doesn't half show up the more, erm, problematic parts of the sandbox. A good few things need another balance pass.

I don't get this. I watched the Giant Bomb quick look and part of the quests that send you to talk to people when you get to the tower sends you to the campaign npc. It was there flashing away on the map (even though they ignored it).

Nice to see there will be Hero Nightmare Hunts tonight though as the normal ones were a bit of a zerg. DId the hero nightfall for the first time last night and that was pretty fun although i'm forever jumping off the edge. I only had the free version on battle.net up until Shadowkeep so it's nice to be doing current content for once anyway and having lots to do other than just a weekly flashpoint.
