Destiny 2: Lightfall

Forsaken has a decent campaign and, as I understand it, a really good Raid (assuming you don’t get that if you don’t have Forsaken).

When I do a search for Destiny 2 on the Sony shop, only the base game, the new expansion, two themes and virtual money comes up. I cant find Forsaken at all.

It's got a great campaign and a great raid, plus two good mini ones - cos you get the full season pass when you buy it now. And stuff like Shattered Throne and Zero Hour. It's probably the best content they've made overall.

The 24-hour cap at 720 seems to be making life really hard for nearly all the teams involved. Nobody's really making any meaningful progress at the 4th encounter at this point.

 

Looks lovely though, and not too convoluted. Loving the fact that they've incorporated Gambit mechanics in there somehow...

Yes the garden looks lush. I've only been briefly checking the Date stream and saw them banking motes during a boss.

 

The start of the Vex offensive was a bit confusing with them putting the way to launch it on director but you have to go back to the Moon first. Also Ikora is giving out quests where the reward is just the gun that I already got anyway, unless I'm missing something?  Seems a fun activity so far though and the invasion effect in the sky on the moon looks fantastic.

I was having loads of trouble completing the Vex offensive pre-quest last night. Kill 100 vex is fine. Kill 3 gatelords? Good luck

 

A) Finding the event when it's actually up (Which isn't often)

B) Actually being able to kill a gatelord because literally nobody else has found the event

C) Doing it three times.

Hah, me and @metallicfrodo were having the same issue last night and then 5 of the events spawned one after the other in the same location which was a bit weird.

Fairly sure it is meant to be like that. It is like the actual offensive where gates keep opening. Finding the event is the difficult/frustrating part. Once you get locate one then it is simple (unless you are alone like Flub)

Yeah if you kill a gate lord it continues to open portals until you’ve killed 3 (I think) and then last one with a big overlord boss

Someone on resetera said they spawn very quickly after the public event in an area which is something at least if true. Shockingly bad game design though since almost no fucker is doing those either. And why would they? Downed warsats for days

Think I've figured a few things out and I'm enjoying so far...n00b question time. Should I be giving the vendors the stuff I've collected like Alkane Dust and Data Lattices? I've maxed out a couple and it shows an Engram but I don't see it in my inventory

 

Speaking of Engrams, what do I do with them? Do these give weapons armour?

You have to click the Engram at the vendor to receive it from them. Then you can give them more tokens and repeat.

 

Some engrams open immediately, some such as Prime you have to take to the Cryptarch in the Tower to open.

The engram is greyed out at the vendor. I'm out at the moment but I'll post a screenshot when I get home

I was reading another post on Reddit that was about this. On launch day the moon was packed but since then I’m often either on my own or there’s at most two or three people about. Apparently they leave space in the instance in case people want to join your fire team. Seems they really should change this to get total players in an instance up.

Oh, we killed one and then that was it earlier on in the evening. Must’ve been bugged. But it’s over now.

So I gave this vendor all I had to get the reputation up but as I said, the engram is greyed out. Do I have to do quests or something to get it? Soz for the n00b questions : )

You have to give her enough Alkane Dust to fill that bar at the top of the screen, at which point she’ll give you an engram.

If you did get it all the way already, then when you did you got an engram but it automatically opened and the item (weapon or armour) will already be in your inventory - or the postmaster in the tower if your inventory was full.

Been banging out a lot of the new vex bounties for XP (although I'm now gasping for glimmer) Ended up getting a bunch of the new vex guns.

 

The pulse can roll with feeding frenzy and multikill clip, FYI 

 

Also an FYI, although I imagine someone's mentioned it already as I was out at the time of reset - banshee's selling upgrade modules for 1 core, 10 shards, 25 baryon bough and 5k glimmer. If you're a vet from forsaken, that's a pile of 25 modules sorted because you've got thousands of those items

what made you change over to Xbox? Not bought the new expansion as yet, but the navigation was already awful on my (standard) PS4

I'm moving away from Playstation, don't want to keep paying for two subs and GamePass is just so good. Believe me when I say that it was a tough decision  

 

It does seem to run a lot better on Xbox though, apart from loading times.
