Destiny 2: Lightfall

Now then, my chums got the Wish Ender last night and I did the first bit of it (they were in the second run through hence getting it) and that is a proper,y too draw bit of Destiny game play - if it hadn’t been 0300 I’d have fancied running it again so I could get the bow!

Pretty good review of the new titan exotic legs.

TLDW - it can reflect a lot of stuff, even Sleeper bolts, but you die as well as your attacker. Best use seems to be for slide shotgunning in crucible, allowing you to "eat" the opponents shotgun blast then wreck their shit.

A good 6-7 hours playing that sodding.game mode and saw the meat ball once - in a game (well one of them) against a pre made that melted their primeval in about 5 seconds.

Coupled with bonkers match making and crap rewards (doubly so when you lose) reminds me why I avoid this game mode.

Between that a Fighting Lion it’s been a fucking salty day

Yeah, I've been playing as a three or four stack during the XP events and it's a blessed relief when you go against four randoms. If anyone is careful and knows what they're doing, it doesn't really affect the mote collecting much, but we run Melting Point, Tether, Blade Barrage and Hammers specifically for the Primeval.

The melting point especially hinges on communication so it just wouldn't work with randoms and is a big advantage. Generally if we get our Primeval up first we are pretty confident we can win. We aren't outstanding or anything, just the teamwork makes a difference.

Not sure why Bungie don't tweak the matchmaking. I can only presume that it might take too long to get in to a game (it already takes a while to load in as it is).

I was extremely lucky to see, and kill, the meatball in my second gambit game after it dropped. Was glad to get that monkey off my back rather than constantly be on edge. I've seen it three times in the past two XP events so they've upped it slightly. Only seen it five times in total.

Apparently it spawns more often in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I've never seen it spawn in the first, but given how rare the boss is, its obviously hard to confirm anything. It would explain why the many 4 stacks I've played against lose the first round, probably intentionally, as a result.

I'm sure someone from Bungie said that there was a near 50:50 chance of the ascendent primeval appearing in the week when the curse was at maximum.

Theyre fucking liars. Given how buggy every perk is (ammo finder lol) I wouldn’t trust them to know shit.

Another wasted evening with no sight of it. (About 5 wins 4 losses)

Its just not fun. I got nothing for the evening - just blue drops and some rep (which gives blue drops)

I don’t even think Gambit is actually much cop now the meta has settled to one thing and Budgies match making is none existent - but coupled with non existent rewards? It’s just draining. Playing that much in one go really highlights what a disaster of a mode it is.

It’s my own stupid OCD brain for knowing ‘they say now is the best chance! Go! Go!’

I dunno. I haven't played Gambit at all since before the meatball first even came into existence, and I jumped in for one match tonight and got it. I therefore conclude that there's a 100% chance of it dropping, and this is not just my own experience but a proven scientific finding.

(It's RNG and I just used up all my luck on a fucking stupid meatball. Stupid meatballs.)

Hey man, I didn't even want the fucking meatball! Imagine not even liking meatballs, or ever wanting a meatball, and then you're walking past some pasta joint one evening and some mad restauranteur jumps out and goes 'here, have this meatball,' and shoves it in your mouth. That's basically what happened, but with Uncle Mike instead of a mad restauranteur, unless Uncle Mike actually is a mad restauranteur in which case that is exactly that happened except it wasn't a pasta joint it was Destiny.

I've had the meatball loads now. Got the sparrow and the ship as well as the emblem yesterday helping someone get their 3rd reset (they needed a melting point). Just need 2 kills on someone doing a super when invading and the protect the runner triumph and I'll have the title without really trying for that.

Sorry @Hexx :(

So the super secret reward from the Murder Mystery (which Bungie are now advertising everywhere - but I can keep a secret) is an absolute beast in PvP

Yeah wouldn’t stress about the meatball, you’ll just have another gun that sits in your inventory because you’d want to use Sleeper. But shouldn’t, because new mystery gun is way more fun.

Got four y2 exotics from last two raids, but still like 20-0 on Thousand Voices. Game be trolling.

On the mystery “new” location,

Spoiler

was it just me or was it a mix of the Rise of Iron and vanilla Destiny versions of the Cosmodrome? It felt like they took the intro to the vanilla bit, and mixed it up with rooms and features from either location. Maybe it’s a different bit of the Cosmodrome.

Holliday says “this may be the last time you ever see the Cosmodrome” at the end, which would be a shame. It’d be great to see some old locations come back, if only for strikes or missions.
