Yeah the Ascendant Challenge is new and very good it is too. Really like those things, and I wonder how many of them there are. Spider's Wanted bounty is the same as last week's, so I assume that once they run out it's just a dice roll which one we get each week.

Finally got a gun I liked that didn't have Outlaw on it – a Tigerspite with Triple Tap and Grave Robber, which was a really fun playstyle until I got a more powerful one with Outlaw and Kill Clip, which is just so obviously better. I'm going to make sure I keep hold of Fun Guns for farming, rather than just using BiS all the time.

The Ascendant stuff was a nightmare last week. Bunch of us tried it a few times and just couldn't do it. Guess we were too low level - albeit I was at 547.

Blind Well is driving me nuts as I can't get enough people in the area to actually do the Tier 2 or Tier 3. Most I've seen is two other people there.

From what others have said, it seems that starting a Tier I run generally gets others loading in or coming to you. It's not empirical data or anything but I've done it twice and managed to get enough people to go all the way to Tier IV both times. So that's basically scientific fact now.

The one with the knights? I was around that same level and it was ok. I was killing ads with another guy and tethering them while the other smashed the knights with the sword. The jumping caused more issues!

TWAB

Changes to the Malfeasance quest include the Ascendant Primeval Servitor spawning more frequently (almost as much as other bosses) during full curse weeks, and less frequently but still more than now in other weeks. Other changes to Gambit include your Sexy Goddam Sleeper only getting 2 rounds from an ammo box instead of 4 (hopefully that's the end of the Sleeper 'rebalancing').

Destiny 2 Update 2.0.4, tentatively scheduled for 16 October, includes the following:

  • Added the ability to hover over Lost Sectors to see their name once a player has looted them
  • Players can now track up to three pursuits
  • Added Through Fire and Flood, Zenobia D, and Crooked Fang-4fr to the world Legendary pool— Edge Transit will have some company
  • Increasing Scout Rifle damage in PvE and against non-player enemies in Gambit
  • Fixed a bug where Prime Engrams were going straight to the Postmaster at the end of Crucible matches; they will now show alongside other end-of-match rewards
  • Added transmat effects to Collections, under the Flair category
  • Tracking for acquired transmat effects began with the launch of Forsaken on September 4; transmat effects gained (inventory or Postmaster), used, or dismantled after that date will be unlocked in Collections
  • Transmat effects are unlocked when added to player inventory, NOT when you gain ships that have them pre-socketed
  • We have identified a very rare issue where the Gambit invasion portal will not reactivate once used, and we are currently developing a fix
  • We are developing a fix for an issue where One Thousand Voices may cause loud screeching audio when fired while strafing or jumping

Destiny 2 Update 2.0.5, tentatively scheduled for 30 October, might include the following subject to developmental changes or delays:

  • Rebalancing functionality of Distribution/Dynamo perks, requiring players to be near opponents for Super energy benefits
  • Slightly increasing Sword damage in PvE to address player feedback
  • Slightly increasing Fusion Rifle damage in PvE
  • Increasing viability of Malfeasance in PvE and Gambit activities
  • Adjusting visibility of the Titan’s Banner Shield, making it easier for players to see through the effects
  • Adjusting Exotic rewards to help reduce the number of duplicate drops
  • Players may still receive duplicates, but there will be better chances for Forsaken exotics when receiving Exotic rewards
  • The chance for a Nightfall Unique Reward to drop will increase each time a Nightfall is completed without a unique drop
  • Adding Masterwork Cores as rewards for specific Spider “Wanted” bounties and general Scrapper bounties
  • Reducing the time for single-shader deletion from your inventory
  • We are developing a fix for an issues where a team will defeat the Ascendant Primeval Servitor, but the opposing team receives credit for the kill

There is to be no heroic or prestige mode for the Last Wish raid, just the existing (and soon to come) challenges.

Festival of the Lost begins on 16 October 'with a celebration of lost heroes and a new challenge to tackle. It includes a costume party, and you’re all invited. It ends with a quest to solve a murder.'

Fuller details of the rest of this season's content will be available next week.

Yeah I may have been on my own ;) Also did it with a clanmate but I reckon they were too low. I finally got myself to 554 so I reckon it should be easier now.

Scout rifle, sword and fusion rifle damaged being increase dis all great news.

Good that they're doing something about the terrible masterwork economy so quickly. Annoying that they're just reducing the chance of dupe Y1 exotics and not slightly increasing the terrible drop rate of exotics overall.

I take it Festival of the Lost is just going to be some annoying Cayde-related series of missions where you have to get a bar from 0% to 100% by collecting stuff.

I like the rarity of exotic drops, but not the frequency of receiving duplicates, so I'm pretty happy with how they're addressing this. I definitely don't want them to go back to the vanilla model where exotics felt everyday, both in terms of utility and acquisition. Or anywhere near that level of triviality. Rareness is a good thing; endless duplication isn't.

We've barely been able to cobble a raid team together this expansion, so we only made the third encounter last night, but I think we're far enough in for me to breathe a big sigh of relief and declare it by far the best raid in D2, and on a par with some of the D1 raids. This has led me to reflect on the expansion as a whole, and having experienced almost all the content now I think it's safe to say this probably betters even Taken King. It has the narrative coherence of that D1 high point (it's no coincidence that a lot of the narrative and lore links directly back to TTK, so it's standing on the shoulders of a giant, but at the same time you have to give it credit for not taking a dump, pigeon-style, on its bearer, the way Osiris did). It has the atmosphere and sense of discovery and mystery that TTK did. The evolving City and the month of new and sometimes surprising content additions have taken TTK's rolling quest lines and turned them into something altogether more delightful. And the combat and combat tools and abilities have also taken another step forward - my favourite, naturally, being the new Hunter solar tree and the exotics, old and new, that pair with it. Just fantastically good fun, and the very definition of a power fantasy.

So yeah, all in all, it's the best Destiny has ever been. There are some issues - performance is surprisingly, disappointingly poor on console sometimes (the menus, they do nothing; and the terrible frame rate drops when engrams pop); and the economy and rewards systems are still not quite right, although I suspect they'll never be and Bungie will just continue to experiment with every new DLC and expansion. But taken as a whole, this has probably been the best month of Destiny since forever, edging out the Taken King, which is something I'd hoped for but not dared to anticipate since the fiasco that became of D2 vanilla. Quite fitting that Oryx would only be bested by his sister, really.

That seems like nonsense. Perhaps you're not as sensitive to FPS as you thought?

Nope, Destiny runs like shite in the 60fps world we live in but one thing I don’t get is slowdown when engrams pop - honestly, if I play this after Fortnite or BF etc I feel horrible for ages as 30fps is nasty so I’m very sensitive to frame drops and I’m always well up for having a dig at bungo but nadda!

Yours is somehow the only PS4 or Pro that doesn't exhibit the problem. I call shenanigans.

Ill video it next time I get one, just asked my chum in fireteam and he hasn’t seen it either. I’ve seem the odd bit of frame rate drop but never slowdown as described in here.

Getting into menus takes days mind.
