What's annoying is that the nightfall recommends 540, and it won't let you do the matchmaking to find a fire team unless you're 540.  So I've not been going near it.

 

The bounties seem like a step backwards with how you have to pick them up.  I wish they'd just a bulletin board where you could pick up the bounties across the system that you wanted.

They have matchmaking in Nightfalls now? Haven't heard of that. But I haven't done a Nightfall as a 540+ character yet.

 

Shoot out a clan request anyway to get a premade together. There's always at least one NF that's easy enough at much lower levels than 540 as long as you go for the right singe + Heavyweight. Certainly at 520 or above the ones we've done have been no bother at all as long as you don't play 100% daft. (80% is fine.)

Double bug (or double misunderstanding on my part) — weekly clan contribution maxed but the vendor was adamant I only had 75%, and none of the weekly engrams from everyone else’s hard work. 

 

Edit: my bad. The weeklies I don’t get because I switched clans. Just the tracking for the weekly contribution that was off — but that might be related, I guess.

Yes I noticed that which is quite annoying.

 

Also is there a bug with the Gambit clan engram or have I misunderstood it. It suggests that when it's been checked off for the week everyone in the clan should have access to a powerful engram from Hawthorne, except both this week and last week I didn't get one. It worked fine for the crucible one.

For all the improvements to the game itself in terms of gameplay, content and progression, it's far buggier now that it's ever been. The number of bounties that don't complete, challenges that bug out, and stuff that just disappears or plain doesn't appear at all (like some dailies; like some mission-critical stuff that doesn't go to the post; like challenges for some but not for others) is pretty huge. I've had another few this evening, such as Crucible matches that don't count as completed, and 1/3 Gambits completed after doing three. Performance on consoles is often poor as well - although weirdly that seems to vary from person to person. On my PS4 Pro, any time anyone gets an engram pop, which happens often, the framerate dips to slideshow levels and really impacts gameplay. Something I never thought I'd say about Destiny.

 

It all feels weirdly rough around the edges in many ways. Maybe a result of Bungie putting all hands to the pumps for most of the year in order to reverse the structural decisions taken in vanilla D2, make sure there's a lot of new content that's not one-and-done, and not having time to iron issues out. I'd still rather it was like this than the relatively smoothly polished but empty experience of vanilla, but it's just a pity we can't have both. In a game that does now demand a lot of time from you to get the most out of it, it's a bit deflating to do the stuff that needs doing and not get what's advertised out of it.

 

On the other hand, Sleeper Simulant. Man, what a weapon. If there's any gun for which it's worth inserting the modified DVALIN FORGE-2 into IKELOS and compiling for immediate implementation, that's the one. Anyone calling for nerfs should just STOP STOP STOP V55NNI900CLS003

Yep, they've clearly been working their tits off to bring the us the best Destiny expansion we've seen yet. Stupid cunts! Here's an interesting post from Reddit that's well worth a read (it even has 8k+ upvotes, but wasn't posted here, oddly):

 

 

And yes, Ben, before you start this applies to anyone making games, regardless of their team size.

 

Forsaken is fantastic, it's just so much fun. They'll get stuff fixed as soon as they can, I'm sure.

 

Oh, and on a side note - I got to the boss on this week's Ascendant Challenge while @Nate Dogg III was busy floofing around on his Warlock. Got the boss down to well under 2/3rds of health (while shitting myself almost constantly), then he showed up fashionably late and probably took the rest of his health with an OP melee attack. Twat.

TLDR ;)

 

It is buggier than D1 though, but bugs can be fixed. I suspect its because they've had to layer on the new stuff on top of a base game that wasnt designed to be like this in the first place.

 

Kudos to them for doing it, and turning the game around, but the interface speed has suffered as a result. I hope they can do something to optimise it, but I have read it may be to do with the consoles operating systems rather than the game engine, as PC players dont have the same issues.

 

Edit: Iron Banner not rewarding tokens for some people. Pretty major issue, obviously, as then you cant get any rewards other than from the tokens from the bounty completions. Hope this gets fixed, as I want the Iron Banner rocket launcher (dont care for the armour to be honest):

I suspect I'll be fine getting tokens on my Hunter, just like the clan XP stuff works fine on that character, but obviously I shouldnt have to do that, and If I had no alt up to that level, I'd be getting no tokens other than from the bounties full stop.

 

Double edit: Its a known issue, as its listed here now, and there is a Hotfix tomorrow (dunno if its for that issue though). Also, the frame rate issues when an engram drops is listed there, and is being investigated :sealclap:
