Cozmo responded in the thread on reddit about the reset bug for the weeklies.

Basically, its a bug and they are trying to fix it - as in, fix the bug that is preventing the reset from happening on Tuesday.

I suspect it may not make it into the hotfix that was supposed to happen on Tuesday anyway, but it may just be server side and not require a download in any case. We'll see.

It's unlikely to be unconnected, what with the false reset for the weeklies happening four days after the actual reset day. But what's gone wrong with the code is relatively unimportant to players. What's important is not to just say 'it's a bug and we're trying to fix it' - which is good in itself - but also to explain what the bug currently means. As in, who exactly it affects. Is it people who first did the weeklies after the unintended reset? Is it people who did them before and after, i.e. those who double dipped? Is it everyone? Can you safely do the weeklies now if it's your first time, or will that put you in the 'no reset on Tuesday' pool? All they have to do is be a bit more explicit than 'depends'. Assuming they do know who it is likely to affect, which I assume they do.

This weekly reset thing is so fucking confusing.

My understanding is that currently:

1) It’s only the weekly heroic story, crucible & gambit powerful gear rewards that are affected, as they were the ones that erroneously reset too early.

2) If you happened to do these twice in the first week on a character then they will not reset on Tuesday for that character.

So that’s 3 powerful gear drops that are potentially shut out next week for a lot of people. That sucks for those like me who are doing their best to get their power level as high as possible for when the raid drops next week. Bit of a fuck up on Bungie’s part but I don’t think anyone should be surprised as they always manage to cock something up somehow.

I still have no idea if this affects alts at all. If you haven’t done any of this week’s powerful gear rewards yet & did them today will they count as they’re supposed to? Will they drop at the correct level? Will they reset correctly tomorrow? Don’t want to waste my time bashing them out today if there’s no point to it.

Forsaken is great though & the Dreaming City is the best area they’ve ever done by far. I love the elegant & beautiful space-elves aesthetic. Had a wondrous afternoon & evening earlier this week just wandering around exploring it’s shimmering mystery for hours & hours. Went in as blind as possible so I didn’t even realise that it was going to be a fully explorable patrol area & not leaping on reddit to devour the latest exploit or glitch or discovery has paid off in spades as I’ve discovered most of the stuff in there myself & it’s been all the more rewarding for it. That sense of mystery & discovery is what the game’s been lacking & they’ve done a fine job in bringing it back. I have a feeling the raid is going to be the best one yet too.

Gambit is a lot of fun & I can see myself playing it a lot when I want some downtime from the power grind. Desperately needs a solo queue though...

Absolutely hated Crucible in D2 year 1 but they’ve well & truly fixed it in my eyes. Played it just for the weekly reward but ended up having so much fun that I stayed in there for hours & went on an 8 game winning streak. Feels so good to be able to run fusions & shotguns again yet not have them dominate. Hope I’m not speaking too soon but I’ve yet to see any sniper-fests so far too, which was my one fear for the weapon slot changes.

So overall a big bravo Bungie...you incompetent twats.

I think one consequence of the game structure and its focus on obtaining loot is that some people treat it as a process to be optimised, rather than a game to be enjoyed. I remember when the 3 of coins was first introduced and that glitch where you bang a coin, kill a boss, kill yourself, and then repeat was still in effect, and people on here were complaining that doing this over and over again to farm exotic engrams was really boring, and that lazy old Bungie  should pull their fingers out and fix it with a patch.

Haven't played since before the Warmind DLC, had it but didn't play it.

So jumped back in at the weekend with Forsaken bought as well. Right now they guided progression (story part) through Warmind and into Forsaken is great and loving the closed off parts I open as I progress. Just hope that the endgame stuff doesn't burn out as quickly as D2 original and Osiris.

Players have already glitched into the Raid map and accessed a couple of areas including a hidden chest.

The chest drops raid gear so there's spoilers aplenty around.

Really don't understand why you'd want to ruin it for yourself. Going into a raid completely blind is one of the best experiences in gaming. Each to their own, I guess.

Having done this, I can safely say that there is really nothing that got spoiled. If anything, it's more like walking around the outside of the Dreaming City space as it currently is - at one point, you're just walking past the outside of the arena where the Blind Well is located. I definitely didn't see anything that looked even remotely Raid-like. Hell, you barely see anything that resembles a finished texture.

I remain firmly of the belief that this game really has not right to even exist in a sane world. It's so big and messy and tries to do so many different things that any reasonable developer wouldn't touch with a barge pole, that there's bound to be a few cracks in the walls here and there. And I'm fine with that, for the most part. There was an interview with Luke Smith around the time D2 was first coming out over a year ago, where the question was basically - "Why are you doing this? You're making something that will never be able to satisfy the rabid appetite of the audience you're going for. So why bother?". And every expansion just seems to reinforce that. But I for one am glad they keep trying.

Jesus   Apparently all you do is just

Spoiler

farm lost sectors with that prime engram buff active, but don't pick up prime engrams if they drop so you can keep the buff and the engrams keep dropping

Worlds first for the raid will me interesting I'm sure.

Not even gonna read what that exploit is. I really hate that kind of shit as it just rips the guts out of the progression system, which when you strip it down is the whole point of the game.

It’s cool that the raid chest exploit doesn’t apparently spoil the raid arenas too much (and as I say, each to their own) but it’s still spoiling the raid gear, which for me is a big deal. Getting that little hit of dopamine as you get your first raid drops is one of the most rewarding parts of the game. Getting a weapon that you’ve never seen or heard of before & looking at its perks that can’t be found on any other & the sense that you genuinely earned it by completing that raid encounter for the first time. I just read that apparently some tool already has a full set of warlock raid armour as he repeatedly deleted characters & utilised the exploit over & over or something. What is the point, honestly.

Because progression is king. And not just progression but as fast abd efficiently as possible. This often means you don't actually play the game, but spend more time playing its systems, or economy or glitches.

I don't have any problem with people getting in to the raid area to get the chest once. I guess it can serve as a taster. Personally, I'd rather go in on launch day with a fireteam and get a surprise (I knew nothing about Leviathan and it was nice to see something so different than what has come before).

People absolutely devour it without really enjoying what they are doing. It's nice to see numbers for up, and I'm as into that as everyone else, but I want to play the game doing it. The game isn't the engrams, it's the gunplay and loot. And then using that loot to go murderise people in Crucible. People forget that this chunk of content is supposed to tide people over until December, yet we will hear about a content drought soon no doubt.

Already on Reddit I've seen countless complaints about the grind for exotics. Wasn't this the very same grind people wanted back in? I got most exotics in D2 fairly quickly on my main character. People complained that you got three or four just through the story. Forsaken hasn't been out a week yet. And then there's bloody moaning that Xur isn't selling all new stuff. You're meant to be playing the game to get them.

I understand the comment about why on earth Bungie would want to attempt such a thing. Personally I would like them to be a bit more like Zenimax with ESO. That tends to have one big expansion, a smaller one and then two or so dungeon pairs released throughout the year. I think Destiny does generally struggle for content when it comes to getting you playing each month.

But it's so bloody ambitious. When it works and you're on a high, you can see how close they are to pulling it all off in glorious fashion. The gunplay is way better than other MMOs (ESO is ropey and all about cooldowns and - shudder - rotations). It looks great and has some amazing audio and visual designs behind it. It has PVE, solo stuff, sort-of-random team things and then proper "I'll need to talk to five other humans now" epic slogs. It's got PVP that you sort of think might be as good as Halo was even if it's just for a fleeting minute.

Sadly, I think it's just too ambitious and probably too intensive for them to keep the content stream going. They spin a lot of plates and often they'll come crashing down.

And I'm aware that they do ask for a lot of money as an entry point to all this, but I do sometimes find the fanbase quiet poisonous. I could put Destiny 2 down forever tomorrow and still feel like I've gotten my money's worth.

I won't put it down though. As i'm basically doijg the gaming equivalent of scrambling on the ground looking for dirty needles right now.

We all just need to enjoy it, as Destiny has always been at its best in this honeymoon period with a new expansion. We didn't even get that with the last two apparently. Already a few grumbles are surfacing on Reddit that don't seem like they'll go away. And Bungie in typical fashion are fudging up some things. But let's just enjoy these days of summer before the cold, cold winter sets in again and we struggle to remember what it was like, sitting in the lovely warmth of all that new loot.

Grrr. Trying to hit a lost fragment way aways on a comms tower. Normally I'd just whack them with a sniper or a rocket but this is solar and I don't have one. Previously I've still been able to take them down with my handcannon but not this one. I suspect it's just out of effective range (Despite damage numbers appearing) and the health is resetting each time.

I won't have a problem with the current exotic drop rate being seemingly extremely low as long as there's an extremely low chance of getting duplicates, but I think we all know the answer to that.

So they go to the post or stay in the cave for you to pick?

That's pretty broken though.....

They go to the postmaster when you go to orbit apparently.

Woo. Forgot about collections. Had a nice cheap blue one that'll do.

That explains how I got 2 prime engrams one day I guess, and how others have had way more.

Surely that would work for any content then? Not just lost sectors?

Im confused - no way I’d be bothered to skip the grind (or ‘content’)

I think it's because you get prime engrams from yellow bars and lost sectors bosses are the most easily accessible ones.

English, please.
