Nascent Dawn (Polaris Lance mission) complete! I left this on 3/5 for ages because Escalation Protocol was beyond me and most other players, but getting past a set of waves is do-able if you're in a large crowd. The hardest thing outside of that was probably the Javelin multi-kill objective in 5/5 because everyone else wanted to use the Javelin as well :P

There's still the masterwork objective, so I'll have a look at that. Originally I wondered how you were supposed to identify when Perfect Fifth was ready, but the scoped view has the icon thingy in the ammo counter, so yay. I think the idea is to wait out the burning and get the kill from that...

Done! I found a Mars lost sector where you can run to the end, find a vantage point (there are wall-mounted monitors I crouched on), score critical hits on the boss and then burn a bunch of Thrall with Perfect Fifth. So now I've also got explosions after critical kills :D

Every weekly reset, so 6pm Tuesday.

I could have sworn I've had the EDZ one reset already. Thought I completed it the other day, then noticed it was back up again and starting from scratch earlier today. So did it again.

I'm getting absolutely melted by Sleeper Simulant in Gambit too. At first thought it was my power level but now I'm about 505 and it's still happening.

Sleeper is a one hit kill. Can't really be arsed with Gambit just now while that's the meta.

Guide out there right now on how to glitch into what looks like a new part of the Dreaming City, and unlocking a chest for raid loot. Some good old fashioned out of bounds jumping around with a sword shenanigans.

My attempt got me the raid hand cannon with Zen Moment and Rampage. Which is nice. A cool armor mod too - breaking a Taken shield refreshes grenade ability. I'm going to leave my Titan idling in the area for a while if anyone else wants to be filthy and spawn on me to save you the jumps. Just shoot me a PSN message.

• Weekly Challenges Reset: After further investigation, we have determined that the Gambit, Crucible, and Story Weekly Challenges did reset at 5 PM PDT Saturday instead of at the Weekly Reset. Due to this issue they will not reset again at the Weekly Reset on Tuesday at 10 AM PDT. This will impact the acquisition of Powerful Rewards depending on when players completed the impacted Weekly Challenges. We are investigating a fix for this issue and will provide updates in this thread as they are available. The Strike and Nightfall Weekly Challenges do not appear to impacted at this time. - Updated 9/9/2018

So I can do them again and get Powerful gear as of now? That's tomorrow sorted then.

No. People who've done them twice are reporting that they don't give powerful gear after the reset. The problem is, Bungie's language is as obscure as ever. By 'this will impact the acquisition of Powerful Rewards depending on when players completed the impacted Weekly Challenges' they might be saying, if you did them before the buggy extra reset you're fine, they'll be there again on Tuesday, but if you did them again after that they won't. The problem with that is that the people who did them twice seem to report the second dip gave them 500 gear. The other problem is that at least some people who did them for the first time after the fake Saturday reset are also reporting they didn't get the right level gear. But I find that odd, as I did them on my alt after that and all the stuff was fine.

In both cases, there are some people who feel cheated out of either last week's or next week's gear. The ones who seem safest - if you can read anything reliable into the language above - are people who only did the weeklies before the fake reset. So basically I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole if you've done them once already.

Who knows really? The game's a big buggy atm, as I'm sure you know. I bust my balls today to get my alt to the stage where he could cash in the three weeklies for the big Petra rewards, copped the last one (the 100% Well thing), turned that in, and because something had dropped in the Well fights that filled up my consumables menu, the Offering to complete the last weekly couldn't go there, didn't go to the postmaster, and obviously I can't do that bounty again as it's been completed. And I when I got the flashpoint reward before this fake reset business - Thursday, I think - it dropped at 500, not powerful. I'm sure everyone has their own little oddities going on, but there seem to be quite a few progression/reward bugs at the moment, and it sucks a bit when it happens to you. So yeah, best to minimise the risk and not go anywhere near the reset weeklies. Who knows, though? It might be that they only reset properly on Tuesday for people who hadn't completed them pre-Saturday.

My big public service announcement, though, is for people who go into the Well using the Telesto glitch. Just fuck off and ruin some other game, or at least ruin it for yourself in a solo activity. You're not being efficient, you're just sucking the actual life out of the gameplay - especially when you get to the bosses and have no fucking clue what you're doing because you can't glitch them, so we all fail. Thanks.

Yeah I couldn't get a bounty for killing 15 of those glowing shielded enemies in the Blind Well done because in the three instances I went into, all three had someone doing the Telesto exploit and it was progressing the event too fast.

Pretty sure I did the weekly stuff again so I guess that's me fucked for getting any powerful engrams from that stuff after Tuesday. Surely this will be screwing over a lot of people wanting to be ready for the raid on Friday?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did the crucible games post Saturday "fake" reset, so I'm screwed out of a powerful on Tuesday on my main, if it works like that. Might be no powerful rewards full stop from those activities post Saturday until week after next.

Will my alt be able to get any powerful gear from doing them now, post Saturday? I wonder...Who knows?

Bungie doesnt seem to want to tell us in plain english at any rate.

It might be a case that they're genuinely not sure what will happen until the Tuesday reset rolls around? Just a guess.

I did the Gambit and Daily story stuff already and got hosed, so I'm gonna leave the Crucible one until Tuesday and hope for the best. Ironically that means I can't make any more progress on any of the exotic quests I currently have, as they all involve... Playing crucible. Ah well. Spider-Man it is.

Oh, and whoever came up with a quest step of getting 7000 or so hand cannon kills in stuffing Competitive Crucible mode can go suck an egg.

It sucks that they don't really communicate stuff like this in the actual game. You get the odd messages about hot fixes and that when you log in, but all of their communication for the game is done via Twitter. There's going to be people playing it having no idea what's going on with the resets or why they aren't getting the rewards they should.

I still need hand cannon kills and kills in general in gambit (for the 2 exotic quests), and pulse rifle kills in crucible too, but I guess those wont get done either untill Tuesday, if then.

Their twitter post on the subject is full of people replying they've already done the activities, and only got 500 drops, not powerful rewards, but no response from bungie. Reddit isnt that happy either, and have tried to get cozmo and dmg04 in the thread to try and sort it out - hopefully this will get straightened out soon.

I got a notification about a hotfix in-game - does anyone know what this is is fixing (hotly)?

Although I've  been progressing  slowly  so haven't reached that point yet, the Telesto exploit for the Blind Well just seems like a classic Destiny/MMO case of people not wanting to play the game, but just crowbar in the most efficient, robotic way of grinding something to see a number go up.

The same people will, of course, complaining that there's nothing to do in a weeks' time, after they've spent 40 hours doing this to get the game to move them through things faster.

This game has done its best to piss me off the last couple of days. I've enjoyed playing, especially with clan mates on here, but yesterday I got that coin slot warlock helmet at 510 right before completing one of Ikora's challenges. Went to Ikora, same helmet at 509.

This morning I did the daily heroic and got a bond at 510, then did a little crucible to bump me over the clan XP mark for the clan engram. Went to Hawthorne, got another bond, but at 509.

Yep, Destiny's back alright. ;)

Look, some of us are reviewing the game and needed to see just how bad it was ok

Turns out, pretty bad. And yes, no substitute for learning the mechanics, but at least this way you find out more quickly that the group you've been matched with have no idea what they're doing. Anyway I apologise to everyone, I felt dirty and I promise I was thinking of you the whole time. I won't do it again.

Anyway, ruining the game aside, I had a much better time with this last night. Finished off the Well bounty and turned in the offering for some decent gear. Won a Gambit match and got another hand cannon invader kill for the AoS quest (which is going to take me *months* at this rate). Then decided to give the Ascended challenge another go – I'd tried to solo it with very little success the night before, and last night started off in much the same way. I got very, very close on one attempt, steeled myself and went for it. Suffice to say it is not something you are meant to solo, I don't think. But I'm ever so glad I did.

That was the most intense five minutes I've ever spent in Destiny. Just running away from noises, basically, with no idea what's behind you, if it can hit you and whether you'll survive it or not, so all you do is run, and jump, and run, occasionally emptying a desperate couple of clips into a blight, or punching a crystal. Fucking hell. Reward was nice too, though I then spent ten minutes scouring the director looking for a strike which, google would eventually inform me, doesn't actually exist yet.

As for the weekly challenges – this has to be Bungie's buggiest launch to date, right? And a reminder that while they might be getting better at talking to us, they're no better at actually communicating. Like, am I better off not actually playing the game tonight, in case I complete something that appears to have reset but actually hasn't? Should I not start work on one of my other characters because I'll be essentially stiffing myself out of a load of powerful gear? Why is it so difficult to explain?

Got to the City last night ( which is ace ), didn't realise that my consumables were full so didn't get anything out of any chests, or a Tier 1 Well completion & then there was nothing at there postmaster either.

If planet resources are able to go to the Postmaster then surely the stuff from City should do as well.

Yup. They have a lot of coders working at Bungie, so maybe they should hand this sort of thing over to them so they can be explicit about exactly what conditions will trigger you not getting the reset on Tuesday. 'Depending on when you completed them' is impossibly vague.

Aye, like I said, I got nothing for doing the Dreaming City's 'three weeklies' challenge because a drop in my last batch of Well completions filled my consumables tab. Not a very good payoff for quite a few hours play, and you can't even go back and do it all again because it's gone. Hardly a disaster given the amount of stuff there is to do overall - and will probably pale to nothing compared to the cries of anguish next week from people feeling they got a bugged set of weeklies last week and none at all next - but still a proper feelsbadman moment.

There are rather a lot of consumables though, aren't there? Looks like I'm going to have to chuck stuff out that I actually want just to make more room. It might be an idea if, when Bungie decides to add more consumables, they give you some more consumables space in the inventory to accommodate them. Or just make quest items like this something other than consumables. Say, a quest item? Or make them go to the post of your consumables are full when they are mission critical? Dunno, just throwing a few crazy thoughts out there.

Not to mention the fact that for some people ( like me ) who hadn't completed all the weekly stuff yet, its basically just taken away a couple of Powerful Engrams completely.

I mean, it was likely a 513 & a 514 chest to go with the ones I already have but still....
