I don't think there is. I already had most of the Vanguard set through drops, just needing the chest and cloak, and after a few duplicate arms and helms, and a lot of weapons, I got both those with tokens. So I have the full set now. It's just RNG, like a lot of Destiny.

Oh, and the Nightfall is perfectly doable if you're 510 or above (under that you don't do any damage at all and it's therefore impossible). We just did it with me at 512 and the other two maybe two or three points higher. With the activity being so far above our power level, even the blue drops are decent - 506 or 507 in my case, although with the way infusion works now they're basically still useless because I ain't using them to bring much-loved weapons near to par. It's just too expensive.

 

As if it needs saying, just choose Arms Dealer, play carefully (you will not burn the boss down) and set your card to Heavyweight and whatever singe suits your team best; then make add clearing your priority in the last room and chip away at the boss when you can. It's really not too bad at all, and obv there's a powerful drop at the end of it. I doubt I'll be aiming for the 100k any time soon, though. The clan NF engram drops high too, so go get yours, Renegades.

 

(It also goes without saying that mine dropped in my strong slot and was lower than the weapon already in there. You just never give up, do you Bungie?)

Yay, got Right Side of Wrong and Wrong Side of Right - it'll be interesting to see how they work together. WSOR doesn't look amazing (reloading when holstered, better handling when crouched) but RSOW offers better stability after causing damage and increased damage after scoring kills... so maybe those two traits will help each other  

 

Also revisited EP long enough to get a Decrypted Cache Key (though I'll need to do more before I can use it!) and finally clear the first step of the third Nascent Dawn thing.

Mucho thanks to @markh (aka LordScotland) for doing gambit with me for the clan xp engram, even though the bounty reset (buggy piece of crap). Least its done. Hopefully Bungie fix the clan bugs soon.

 

Gonna try them on my Hunter to see if its account specific or just something odd on my Titan - will update if I find out what is causing the issue.

 

Edit: Works fine on my Hunter (even did the competitive matches second part, and won a match of Countdown, which I hate). Only thing I can think of is one of my equippable items (weapons, ghost or vehicle) is causing a conflict somewhere. Gonna test by equipping all the same weapons, ghost and vehicles on my Titan and trying the bounties again in a bit.

Double edit: Seems its just my Titan, unless it bugs out next week or so on my hunter as well; heard some people have had that happen on later weeks, as well as partial progression of clan bounties, only for them to stop progressing. What a mess.

@Scruff by the way, I hit level 4 in gambit and did get a reward but it popped ‘strangely’ after I had been floating in orbit for a while, so it’s a bit glitchy

Another reason why the new reset time is shit is having to wait until 6pm for new sets of daily bounties.

That bothers me less on weekends to be honest. Don’t have kids!

 

Now I’ve actually returned to real life for a bit I’m a bit bothered by daily bounties expiring in your inventory. By all means have the selection available rotate every day, but once I’ve picked something up it should be mine to complete at my leisure. I used to enjoy keeping certain bounties in D1 until I could stack them up with others in a nice efficient way.

Nascent Dawn (Polaris Lance mission) complete! I left this on 3/5 for ages because Escalation Protocol was beyond me and most other players, but getting past a set of waves is do-able if you're in a large crowd. The hardest thing outside of that was probably the Javelin multi-kill objective in 5/5 because everyone else wanted to use the Javelin as well  

 

There's still the masterwork objective, so I'll have a look at that. Originally I wondered how you were supposed to identify when Perfect Fifth was ready, but the scoped view has the icon thingy in the ammo counter, so yay. I think the idea is to wait out the burning and get the kill from that...

There's an easy, but boring, way to get that done. Take it to the Leviathan raid, and use it in the Castellum (the first encounter) get the Perfect Fifth loaded, and use it on a full-health Legionnaire. Doesn't take long.

I think the four day reset thing means there’s one easy powerful-drop challenge per day. But it does seem a bit sketchy at the moment.

Today's new daily was completing one strike. I think tomorrow is completing a gambit match.

 

I eventually got a Seed of Light on my third try but I've got no idea whether to unlock void or solar titan.
