So you get to carry Ben through Destiny again, as well as Fortnite?

Such broad shoulders Shimmster! ;)

I’m the hero the world Ben needs.

Ben and Charlie did say they have missed me and my Warlock, further proof that Warlocks are the best!

Alright can someone help me. I've nearly done my armour up to legendary - doubt I'll get masterwork but I should be able to scrape the tshirt however I cannot for the life of me remember how to get Sagira's Shell. I have completed 8 of the tablets however I don't seem to have a new tablet, the guy ain't offering me a tablet and I have a suite of Adventures to do - Do I need to do the adventures to get a tablet and then put the paradox amplifier into it or something?

Anyone remember?

You have to craft all the weapons at the forge so each of the symbols around the "clock" near it light up (all but the one with the leads going into it, if I remember right). If he doesnt have anything for you now, you'll have to wait till reset. Dont think the adventures have anything to do with it as far as I can recall.

Well for two weeks he hasn't had anything for me so I have no idea how I can complete that section. I have eight of them lit up. If i go to the forge it doesnt give me anything to do.

I think he has a random selection of three verses each week, so the more you've done the more likely he won't have one you need.

Have you got a mission called 'signal light' on Mercury.  This is the first part of the quest to get the perfect paradox shotgun.  It's one of the forge weapons.

The game doesn't do a great job of explaining this, but if you have this quest line open you won't be offered any other forge tablet things.  Worth having a look.

The Armour Masterwork triumph is dead easy as you only need to Masterwork one item, and an objective is to kill 10 bosses which include PE and Strike bosses.

RE: Mercury weapons, as others have said check your map. There's a couple of times during the quest line where there's a mission on your map :)

current list of pointless shit in D2:

1) gear power level

2) three of coins

3) Xur

4) NF scoring

5) Night Fall

6) Mercury

7) Heroic adventures

8) Adventures

9) 150 speed sparrows

10) the competitive playlist with no radar

last but not least.....

11) Avalon Teal

Seriously FUCK avanlon teal!

Xur is still pretty handy for buying exotics from other classes. I've been doing that for when I want to start a hunter or warlock rather than relying on the dreadful RNG that still gives far too many dupes. His inventory really does need to be refreshed for Forsaken though but I don't think they've announced anything about that. Something like exotic quests or bounties from him as well would be pretty cool.

I was thinking about the conversation with Stanley about the point of Destiny. In Destiny 1, (according to PlayStation trophy info, at least) 20% of players completed a Raid, 9% completed the Taken King Raid, and 5% completed the Rise of Iron one. That drops to a little over half in each case (14.4%, 5.5%, 2.9%) for the Hard variants.

One of Bungie's stated goals of Destiny 2 was to increase this rate, as they felt players not getting there were missing out - which is what I was saying in here. Have they been successful? The stats today (18.6% on Normal for the main Leviathan raid, 9.4% on Prestige) suggest not really, although this doesn't count either of the Raid Lairs (they don't have Trophies attached to them) and of course D2 has only been out for a year compared to D1's 4.

Assuming for the moment that this translates similarly across all platforms (can you see PC stats for this sort of thing?) it sort of suggests the vast majority of people aren't getting to the meat of the game.

How does that compare with other games? In The Division, only 35% of players get to level 30 (max.) 36% of Diablo 3 players completed a Nephalem Rift. That's kinda bottom rung of endgame stuff, maybe equivalent to D2's Complete a Nightfall Trophy (42% of players on PS4.)

I don't know if I had a point here. Stanley's not alone in buying it as a campaign game, I guess, even if that's really only bouncing off the surface of the game in my opinion. 6 players, on mic, learning an activity that even practiced takes upwards of an hour to do is a pretty high ask.

I just think raids are so much better and so unique in terms of the experience you get in comparison with other shooters. It is the point of destiny as far as I  concerned. Think the percentage drop there is in direct correlation to the length of each game rather than quality. But maybe part of the reason why the raids are good is the preparation for them in terms of levelling up and getting the right gear etc. Maybe the goal of making it more accessible to everyone is directly in opposition to what makes them special.

Yes, agreed. I can't think of anything else I've played with the same quality of experience (netcode notwithstanding) as a good Destiny Raid. Diablo was fun, but not the same thing. The Division had something, but not the same thing. I'm fairly sure Destiny will stay with me as a loved game experience for a lifetime.

Indeed. That's obviously what they've struggled with on D2. Take out a lot of the complexity to try and make it more accessible, and actually it was worse. And didn't create any more players of the endgame. But then, perhaps accessible and available are two different things. Even with stuff that's mechanically easy to do (Escalation Protocol) getting a group together in the game is basically impossible. It's a shame they can't solve that.

But given the population is far more sophisticated I assume the percentage is higher.

Not sure if bait. I would also expect the PC rate to be higher though.

Presting Raid Lair modifiers:

  • Armsmaster: You've been challenged to wield the following:
    • Kinetic: Scout
    • Energy: Pulse
    • Power: Linear Fusion Rifle

    Modifier: Prism

(Reddit reported the wrong modifiers). Might not be bad, as I suppose you could use Sleeper Simulant, but no idea how good it would be for boss dps. I said it would be fusion rifles or similar this week, as they've not been in the rotation before.

Nightfall is Savathun's Song, so pretty doable I reckon for 110k compared to last weeks.

Also, reddit is reporting the Spicy Ramen quest is active, but typically I cant get on as a friend is over to play Talisman: the board game (which he recently bought), so I cant confirm.

I mean really hats of to bungie for the most bungie ass move of releasing a new quest which has been ready for months at the point when absolutely not a single soul gives a flying fuck about anything to do with season 3. it takes really a special kind of intellect for this amount of flawless trolling. impressive. :hat:

Theres more than one of the coupons, as its been datamined. Theres definitely a legendary version, as here it is:

https://db.destinytracker.com/d2/en/items/3206311209-spicy-ramen-coupon

Same coupon, but legendary instead, and has only expired recently, not decades ago. I suspect this will come into play in Forsaken rather than now or next week, and may be used to commemorate Cayde at a statue or whatever is built for him in the tower.

I got as far as shooting a tank constantly and getting nowhere in crappy green armour before giving up.

That grind is horrendous. No thank you.

I'm still undecided about getting Forsaken. Spider-man is out just a few days later, and I'm definitely getting that. I'm thinking it's wise to wait and see what the reaction is to Forsaken.
