They’ve just announced they’re working on a new IP with a Chinese publisher, haven’t they? No details of the game, so it’ll probably turn out to be a F2P Battle Royale MOBA with a card battle system and a strong boots on the ground vibe, but it’s not Destiny. I suspect that Vicarious Visions and High Moon Studios will do the majority of the work on Destiny from now on, with Bungie providing oversight and direction.

I wish i'd done my research... put a whole set of purple mods in my blue solstice gear only to lose then when I upgraded to purple. That would have been a really easy thing for me to check.

 

Oh well, it will all be meaningless in a few weeks anyway!

 

Forsaken better add a masterwork to Fighting Lion, although it seems unfair to make the best gun even better.

Had one of those rare wonderful weekends that this game can provide - finally got my Whisper with the help of two randoms, and then proceeded to immediately stomp the Heroic version and collect all the chests/oracle puzzle to boot. Then took the new-found sniper for a whirl and completed all the Blue solstice story missions playing solo. This thing is a beast and I love it so.

 

Think that's me done for the most part until Forsaken drops. One of the things I really appreciate about this game is the ease with which you can drop out for a while, and then pick it back up again at a later date with renewed vigor.

Yes. Fireteam leader has to wear the full armour set from Solstice to start it. Other fireteam members do not.

 

Bungie's patch seems to have bugged out on PC, leading to several items having the wrong icons, as well as there being no daily milestone at all today, but the following happened to one or more players as well:

Methinks we will be getting a snazzy new quest from Cayde either tomorrow, or the week after.

I was going to have a short break before Forsaken since I (finally) go the Whisper last Friday and can't be arsed doing the weeks of stuff to complete the catalyst, but I'll probably pop back for that Cayde quest and to celebrate his death.

Like you I was tempted by the annual pass, but in the end just pre-ordered Forsaken itself for £30 (got a £35 voucher for £30 through HUKD).

 

They've said the annual pass will be new guns etc but there won't be any cutscenes or narrative stuff. No details further than that though. Was a bit hard to jump in at this point with so little information - and the first one isn't out till winter anyway so I figured there was no point paying for it now.

They made a bit of a mess in communicating the annual pass stuff. The way they initially worded it did sound like they were doing away with story stuff but it sounds like there'll still be expansions but the story will be told actually in-game by finding lore and stuff, rather than cutscenes,

There's no power level in PvP at all. It's hard to get a balanced match for sure, but it's not because you're too low level. It's possibly because you haven't looked at the Resilience and Recovery stats on your armour, but mostly it's because Destiny is not a good PvP game.

You dont get the sparrow untill after the whole vanilla campaign, something I absolutely hated, and even then they give you a crappy green quality one.

 

You get to pick an exotic after doing the “Sacrilege” mission and returning to Asher Mir on Io - make sure to grab Graviton Lance, as Riskrunner is pretty naff, and while Sunshot is great, Graviton beats it in the range stakes while still having the explodey goodness, and being really good in PvP (Expect this to change come 28th of this month btw, so dont get too comfortable with it!).
