Weapons, armour, sparrows, ships, shaders and emblems that have been in your inventory when the Warmind update dropped has been tracked and will be available in the collection. Theoretically you can delete them now and they'll be available there in Forsaken but like hell am I trusting Bungie with that one just now :lol:

Solstices of Heroes armour... do you need to be wearing the specific pieces to complete the challenges attached to them?

 

Feels like a stupid question, but I just finished painting the best stuff I have for my 345 hunter and would really like to actually use it rather than cutting about like the John Mclane of Destiny while I do these flashback missions!

Goes from green to blue to legendary and then to masterworked legendary.

 

My Titan has 3 parts masterworked now as I did a prestige nightfall 147k run and a prestige leviathan clear just now. Not as hard as I thought it'd be to be honest. Just need heroic strikes and some boss kills and my Titan will be finished with the Solstice armour set. Then I have to do the other 2 characters - yep, I must be nuts :lol:

 

Also, I mentioned I'd never got the raid sniper to one of the guys I did the raid with, and he said "thats funny, he's selling it right now!", so that was a nice bonus.

 

Edit: Argh, just noticed you need to do 5 heroic strikes with a clan mate after I did a few strikes. No wonder the bar wasnt progressing :doh:

I’ll probably be on later and will help you through this (as I think I’ve gave up on the armour pretty much) in the event you haven’t found someone to grind through it

The Redux missions are surprisingly good fun, and hammer home the weird situation with the campaign content in Destiny – all these unique environments and painstakingly crafted levels that you don’t even have the option of replaying once you’ve finished the single player story (unless they crop up in Ikora’s memories randomly, which I’m fairly sure that most don’t). They haven’t even reworked it into Strike content, which is especially wasteful. Like, 1AU – those huge levels, with the unique sun-burn mechanic and the setpieces where you fight in and around vast Cabal weapon mechanisms. Or Payback – a fairly dull level played solo, but amazing fun in co-op, with one player spotting with a sniper rifle and the other raining down fire with the tank. It reminded me a lot of Assault on the Control Room.

 

The only poor bit was the memory-test section on Homecoming with the Scorpius guns, which stank of ‘third-tier developer padding out an expansion pack’, as if it was FEAR: Perseus Mandate or Doom: Resurrection of Evil, and even that wasn’t too painful.

 

The idea of having gear at a set light level is a really good way of reusing campaign content, and ensuring that it’s a consistent challenge. I can’t see them doing too much with this idea given that they’ve said that there’ll be no campaign content in any of the post-Forsaken updates, but having a consistent structure where you can replay campaign stuff with locked gear to get further rewards would be a good way of ensuring that stuff like 1AU and Homecoming don’t get forgotten about.

They’ve also spoken about a new ‘upgrading’ masterworks mechanic in your armour which will presumably be similar to what they’ve done with the Solstice gear.

That sounds really good, especially the second bit. What I thought would be particularly useful would be the locked gear / set power-level aspect, in the same way that the crucible has normalised power levels, so that the SP content can actually be balanced. Although if it's roughly equivalent to the difficulty of a heroic strike, then that's fine by me too.

Bleuuurgh. 5 or 6 tries at Whisper now, and no dice. Closest we got was one boss down, one with less than half a bar left, but one untouched. Just can't seem to put out enough damage in that last room, nor clear the adds without getting absolutely mullered.

 

So I go and make myself feel better by watching someone do the Heroic version solo without using Whisper. FML.
