Destiny 2: Lightfall

Just took one for the team - bought the festival glow bundle from Eververse for 1k silver dust - got 1 solitary glow effect - in this case arc glow for legs. This seem a bit of a way to con you out of that hard earned silver dust that you may have accumulated after all this time. At least to me anyway.

Went green to blue as then ground out most of them (need to run missions again tomorrow)

Bit of a pain for Warlockd it’s arc melee/super and solar grenades. Hate when you can’t work for everything.

Need to find a quick short adventure (or two) to run tomorrow

August 7th:

Whisper in power slot, Ikelos Shotty in secondary (which looks like it might 2 shot Guardians post Forsaken) and handcannon in kinetic (3 tapping in PvP).

Elemental Orb Generation

Solstice of Heroes is now live in Destiny 2. Included with this event are elemental alignments, which allows players to generate and stack elemental orbs to increase their damage output with the matching element for a short time. Additionally, players must collect Arc, Solar, and Void orbs in various activities to complete objectives attached to their Solstice Armor set.

While these orbs are generated randomly by defeating enemies, here are a few tips on how you can make sure you’re generating the orbs of a desired element:

  • Orbs are generated only by players who have an entire Solstice Armor set equipped (of any quality).

  • Elemental orb generation does not require Super ability kills or Masterwork weapon kills. Players can potentially generate orbs on any kill, as long as they are wearing their full Solstice Armor set.

  • Elemental orbs are generated based off of the player’s equipped subclass, as well as their equipped Energy and Power weapons. If, for example, you wanted to generate only Solar orbs, changing your loadout to all-Solar helps you accomplish this. Kinetic weapons can also generate orbs based off of the player’s loadout.

  • You can generate and receive elemental orbs from local allies. If you’re travelling in a fireteam, coordinating elements can help you more aggressively progress through elemental orb pursuits.

So its just random when orbs pop out, which is what it looked like when doing strikes. Bit daft, but there you go.

This is pretty important stuff, so be sure to get what you want out of the emblem and exotic collections in your vault before this happens!

Destiny Update 2.0.0 Vital Information

At the conclusion of Solstice of Heroes on August 28, Destiny 2 will be updated to prepare for the launch of Forsaken. In the week between August 28 and September 4, players will see some unusual behavior in-game as we make the transition into Year 2.

Here’s a short list of what players should be prepared for, with more details to come at a later date:

In general, collections and the vault will not be available. Specifically, this includes the collections for emblems, as well as Exotic weapons and armor. If players want to have an emblem or Exotic item in their inventory during this week, they will need to prepare their inventory ahead of time.

Nightfall strike scoring will not be available. We’ll have more information about strikes and how they’re changing in Forsaken in the coming weeks.

This is all in an effort to set the table for the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken on September 4, 2018. Pardon our dust, and please plan accordingly.

Might only be the collection tab, but may also be the entire vault! Make sure you grab anything and keep it on characters before hand, as you may not be able to get it out the vault post August 28th.

The way it’s worded makes it sound like it’s just the collection tab that won’t be available, but it’s still pretty ambiguous. The entire vault being unavailable for a week would be a pretty inauspicious prelude to a high profile update.

I like Solstice, one of the issues with D1 was the fact that older content became worthless so it's nice seeing them cycle it back into play in a creative way. Shows that it doesn't need to be new levels and whatnot to be fun or motivating.

They've confirmed its just the collections stuff now. Vault should be fine, so not really a big deal.

Yeah if you have more than 1 character.

Didn't think of that. But wouldn't you just use an item manager to transfer whatever exotic you wanted to use to the new character? Saves you having to maintain multiple versions at a high power level.

I can't be arsed faffing around like that :) Specially for stuff like Graviton Lance that all three of mine use.

Warlock solar AOE 'nade, try for a solo EP (sunbracers of course) hit a thrall then dump one underneath you and jump. Everything homes in on you and stands in the fire and dies and toss the other ones about to hit whatever else you can. Do the rift as you'll get more thrall and acolytes appear then when the boss pops in, zone into another instance and repeat. Doesn't take long at all.
