What I truly don't understand is why they are solely focusing on PvP and leaving PvE well alone.

Before launch they wouldn’t shut up about e-sports and streamers, it seems to be a big priority for them. They can’t be happy they’re getting beaten in viewership by (/quickly checks Twitch) Golfing Over It With Alva Majo (wait, what).

I suspect that they’re hoping the PVE crowd will return with a flashy trailer for whatever the Taken King equivalent is at E3.

These changes have probably upset the balance of future dlcs they have in the pipeline so I’m not surprised actual content is delayed as they rejig them to compensate, I just see this more of a getting your house in order before expansion.

I’m definitely looking forward to more content now, I am missing this but Monster Hunting has more than enough to keep me ticking over till it arrives

I picked this up from The Game Collection did £12. Just up to Titan. Really enjoying it so far. No interest in the grinding stuff or anything like that. Just enjoying the combat that it throws at you. Looks gorgeous on the X as well.

Indeed, it’s worth remembering in amongst the perfectly valid moaning that they gimped the long term game that at the same time they massively improved the single player and made a game that gives a hugely entertaining 20-40 hrs if not more before the appeal starts to fade

If I get twenty to forty hours worth of enjoyment out of 12 quid, I'll be more than happy.

I think I paid about £30 and thought I'd had my money's worth by the time I'd done the campaign. My advice would be to leave it there.

While I find this easy to believe because of how big esports/streaming is at the moment, I can't say I believe it having seen D2 Crucible. Horrifically boring to play, let alone watch. So slow and tedious.

Why is a single patch a "Season"?

It’s a joke isn’t it, Fortnite does more QoL and gameplay enhancements in a weekly patch than this does in a ‘season’ but it’s good to see gradually they are reverting to Destiny 1!

I assume it's to try and trigger people's OCD. There's stuff limited to that season AND YOU CAN MISS IT if you don't play etc etc

(Unfortunately it's emblems, banners etc and stuff people don't care about)

It’s not the patch that defines a season, I think it just means it in the sense of a season of the year. So there’ll be some kind of summer crucible event, some kind of public space theme, possibly a unique PvE thing, emblems, emotes, etc.

I really feels like every choice made has to be approved by the manager who approves the approval and creates a 25-page design plan that has to be green-lit by the manager managing director who has to talk to the resource manager in charge of some but no all resources who forwards it to the round table of designers who spend weeks deciding who is in charge of making the change. Once made, another few weeks go by because now the implementer has to be appointed and for that many approvals and green-list are mandatory. But it's worth it, because multi-emotes.

I've moved on from it, deleted both games from the PS4 last week & gave the first game retail disc away.

Glad to actually have the time back to enjoy some single player games.

Wait, who's been clamouring for the return of random rolls on weapons? What does that add to the game other than a time/resource sink?

A reason to play it, giving back players the chance to have a different build from every over identikit player - maybe they will add some content back later on too :o

I don't think random rolls promote build diversity so much as a luck-driven limbo before someone gets whatever "God roll" they've been told about. Like most people I can enjoy a good carrot on a stick, but compound randomness is an unappealing treadmill in my book.

It gave a reason to play, something to do and a potential reward for playing the same content again -like it or not it triggered that part of the brain that made the first game compelling and the lack of such things is why Destiny 2 is dead :(

I don't really think the randomisation was necessarily a better thing. But it is true that there's little/nothing to keep playing D2 for. And no excitement at all to be had from the 10th Better Devils dropping (a problem so obvious, Luke Smith literally talked about it before the launch.) Couple that with a flat end game, a lack of truly compelling loot, and too much identikit normal loot, and it seems poor.

But I don't see just adding random rolls is going to change much.

It’s too late now, they just shouldn’t have changed it in the first place.

Not one of my clan still plays.

We were actively doing about 14 hours a week each before Christmas and now it has just died a death.

I chatted with some the other day and all of them said they didn't care about the next lot of stuff. They have all moved on to other games.
