If any Renegades are still playing, you will find that the Nightfall and Crucible clan engrams are available this week (for the first time in ages.) @Deeptone, @markh and I hit the NF yesterday. It's been Torrent for a few weeks on the trot now, I think?

Crimson Doubles is fun, even if randoms on the internet pay no attention to positioning.

The PosClub took the new Nightfall system for a spin and results were very pleasing.

Setting your own challenge level is a good move and having the same for other activities would be very welcome. Once they start adding in other modifiers, I can see this getting some fun moments. Basically make it like The Club.

There's still not anything special you can get out of running the Prestige NF so it's not going to make anyone suddenly go back but for those of us still kicking around for the hell of it, it's a positive change.

Thought these Tweets are quite telling of why Bungie's comms and changes seem so slow and paltry compared to the competition. I appreciate you have to jump through hoops of approval at any large organisation. But here's Jon Weisnewski explaining why showing a short video clip of a playtest took them over a week to approve. Sounds like a beuracratic nightmare there.

Exotic tuning playtest update: Just saw Sturm & Drang take first place in 8 player rumble.

Can we maybe see brief clips of this kind of stuff in action? It would do wonders for morale

There's footage from a playtest coming soon to a TWAB. It was captured last week, took a fair amount of vetting from multiple ppl to make sure we weren't showing something we hadn't announced yet, required time from test to pull off lab machines, edit, compress.

Then went to our vizd team for final editing where things like debug text can get removed from the footage. Then it gets passed around again for final sign off. All in all it has taken a little over a week.

Again, I agree it would be totally sweet. Just saying there's a fair amount of work involved from people to make it happen. So, sometimes all you're gonna get is a fun tease from my twitter account and nothing else. All will be revealed in time. Cheers!

They've also done an awful lot more than that, in fairness. Increased mobility across the board, buffed super cooldowns by 25%, buffed just about every weapon type that isn't Uriels or a rocket launcher... As with everything else they do it's probably not going to be the thing that brings me back, but I'm interested in seeing how it all shakes out.

The radar thing is absolutely fucking baffling though.  who was complaining about the radar? renders several exotics useless of half of the PvP activities (jester, knucklehead, etc). so if this was never going to be enough to get people who were complaining back in why would they pick on us sad fuckers that are still playing every day? this guy sums up my view very well.

Given they killed the entire franchise with the sequel release it’s hardly odd that they are making bad decisions at this point is it!?

Love him or hate him King Goth put out a fairly decent video about the death of Destiny and it’s easy to forget that some people have had their living taken away from them due to the games demise (not goth as he has always had a load of variety in his content but he supported loads of others in the partner program)

I hope this is ok to post but in case anyone used to play D1 and D2 with him sadly Norrie (Username Norrie-Helen) passed away last week.

I believe it was natural causes, I'm told he was about 70! Afraid I don't have any other details.

He was always a good crack online with, his heavy Scottish accent was impossible to make out for us southerners out which made Raiding extremely amusing at times, which just added to his great character.

RIP bud.

Was a shocker, totally devastated, More so for his family.  He was a good friend of mine for years, and former colleague. Was only playing D2 with him a week or so ago. He will be sorely missed and would be totally humbled by your kind words. RIP big man.

I've got half an ear to what's going on in Destiny still, still hoping it'll turn itself around and I turned on my PS4 last night and saw the update downloading, I'd heard it was supposed to be 'big' so decided to give it a whirl and jumped in to a Nightfall with a couple of friendly yanks who also hadn't played for months. None of us noticed any real difference except slightly quicker super recharge rate. We all jumped straight off after we finished a bit baffled and one of them signed off with 'yep, fuck this game for good now'

So no, as mechamonkey says, can't see this changing anyone's mind on the game overall, it doesn't change anything major. The issues are so much more embedded in the game than just 'buff this', the loot is still shit, the environments are still dull, the weapon system still means fusions, snipers and shotties are not viable at all, there's no fun missions, nothing. Maybe the May DLC will change it all but I doubt it.

D1 was just lightning in a bottle for many people now, me included, and Destiny has fast become 'that game I used to play'.

I’d agree with the above. Character movement, ability & super recharge rates & weapon damage have all been buffed back to what feels closer to Destiny 1 levels. It’s a definite improvement in the core feel of the gunplay but the fundamental problems embedded within the design of the game (weapon slots, boring loot, focus on cosmetic rewards etc) have not been changed at all & there’s nothing of any substance to bring players back.

The only slight glimmer of hope remaining for this game is that they’ll completely retool it for the equivalent of the Taken King expansion in the autumn but I’m not holding my breath. The fact it’s taken them 6 months to even begin to attempt to fix it is ridiculous in what’s supposed to be a ‘live’ game. It’s far too little far too late, I’m afraid.

Supposedly, most of the changes affect pvp rather than pve, apart from faster super recharge in general, and nightfalls having better loot (and can be repeated I think).

Seen a few videos of people running around Crucible using supers repeatedly, and it looked more like Doom than Destiny, just because of how fast everyone moved. Honestly, it looked a bit ridiculous with a Dawnblade Warlock moving so fast throwing fiery blasts as he went.

Ah found the gif:

If that isn't sped up then fuck that. It will just make it an annoying mess..

What I truly don't understand is why they are solely focusing on PvP and leaving PvE well alone. Figures show so many more people play PvE so whey not actually feed the base.

I get that they want to showcase PvP to lure back the streamers who can then get people into the game but that isn't going to happen so why not actually appease the players playing the damned game.
