Destiny 2: Lightfall

So tonight I tried to do my first heroic adventure. I completed it and then it just sorta stopped. No chest, no end, nothing. Just a random waypoint marker stuck in the middle of the sky for some reason.

 

I quit out and started it again only for the exact same thing to happen again but this time in the first section of the Infinite Forest. :mellow:

 

Is this a known thing? Feels very un-Destiny to have a bug that just stops your progression dead.

Yeah I think it's a known bug with adventures definitely, it happened to me.

 

I opened the chest to finish it but there was no countdown timer so I had to quit out.

Yeah I got the Titan Sword for my hunter too, must be a bug. I could've sworn I got a warlock exotic helmet as well.

Someone on the fireteam will have had an Eververse gift activated, it's a new buff you can buy from Tess for bright dust.

Blessed be the Positivity Club as I finally got MW Better Devils tonight. My Titan striker with Skullfort, double pulse grenades, MW Uriel's and Sins of the Past feels plenty like a power fantasy right now.

 

And to top it all off, she's a beautiful shade of metallic pink.

You can now buy tokens from the Eververse that reward cosmetic items to the whole fireteam on completion of a strike or crucible matches if somebody uses one before hand.

Save your shards for other things, or if you do buy them, keep them until we know if its bugged or working as intended.

 

Also, there are reports Xur is giving duplicate exotics from the Fated Engram, even when people dont have all the exotics, which is obviously a bug.

Can anyone offer any assistance to a couple of newbies who purchased the game for the Campaign.

 

After spending an hour where we had to play separately we then joined up together and have gone to Earth. But what on earth do we do once we get there?  We think we are supposed to be helping out a sniper dude, but no idea how to do it. Public events keep popping up, so we have done a few of those.  

 

How do do we progress the game?

Go to EDZ, head in the church, talk to sniper guy. He should give you a mission to go on - it should be standard bearer that's on the ground floor of the church. You'll be asked to inspect a couple of items and then go to a mini dungeon.

 

It might be that it bugged out - done it once to me when I was playing the campaign co-op, wouldn't let me inspect the first item of the quest. Worst comes to worst, go to orbit and head to the church again.

 

Also: when you look at the map (hold select), hold the left trigger. It will pull up some quest progression stuff, including what the next mission of the red war story is.

As far as Three of Coins goes, I did near four hours yesterday, got one exotic.  Siri who also ran with me and didn't have it also got one exotic.

 

SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN FOLKS!

 

(no-one has any clue if it is working as intended or not, so I'm sure with Bungie's new found commitment to communication we will get told about it.  Any minute now.  Any minute...)

Apparently patrol missions now have a high chance of dropping exotics with or without 3oC, so get 'em while they're hot.

 

Logged in earlier, grabbed the bits I didn't have from Xur, logged straight off again. A real problem with the Milestone system is the way it lays bare the fact that you've run out of things to do until Tuesday.

Three of did a run of Heroic strikes. Six of them I think it was and we got one exotic while running Three of Coins. 

I also used the super special Boon of the Vanguard (purple not blue) bought with 385 bright dust and received

 

*drum roll*

 

a shader. 

 

*sigh*

Hit 335, thanks to a few lucky drops while raiding with the positivity club last night - Namely a pair of boots, and Telesto. Happy days - we might even beat Argos soon, same day delivery of those fucking mines and all.

 

Now I just need to save up more tokens so I can cash them in during those 30-minute vendor refresh moments, and get no masterworks from it.  TY for scam, bungle.

I got my first masterwork over the weekend! It's a kinetic sidearm, and is absolute rubs. It's somewhere between a spud gun and a torch in terms of lethality. Still, the orb output is still pretty impressive - it boggles the mind as to how effective it would be if I had, say, Nameless Midnight as a masterwork. I can kind of understand why you need 10 cores to upgrade a specific weapon, something like Nameless or Better Devils would be mad OP for PvE.

 

I guess the dream now is to have a masterwork in every slot - Nameless, Uriel's Gift, and that rocket launcher that fires out cluster munitions. Plus a full set of masterwork armour once they launch that.

Also got some absolutely rinsing legendary guns - Autumn Wind, a pulse rifle that fires almost as fast as an auto rifle, and Garden Progeny 1 from the Forge, which feels a bit like a less powerful Nameless, but looks AMAZING, so is getting at least a bit of use.

I got two Masterworks this week (from weekly milestone Powerful engrams) one Uriel's gift and one primary submachine gun. The SMG is rubbish, but obviously the Gift is great.

 

And yeah, the orbs are a proper game changer. I did a Heroic strike before I got my Masterworks, with two guys who had them. Supers galore.

 

What's the deal with Heroic adventures and Vance, can anyone explain?

 

I finished the main story and follow-ups yesterday, and I'm not quite sure on structure.

 

I solo'd my first Heroic adventure yesterday, and it was really tough. I missed the timer. Are they always Prism modified? Does missing the timer do much? What am I collecting resources for Vance for? What does that lost prophecy do? How do I shot web?

I don't think there was a timer when I did one - solo-ed the tower defense one. It was a total bastard. At least, if there was a timer I didn't notice, and it took me fucking forever to finish the level. The resources for Vance are I think tokens and the radiolarian things I can't quite remember the name of - let's call them Radiolarian Thing 1 & 2. You get RT1s from opening chests and doing patrols; if you get ten of them, you can take them to Vance to charge up the lost prophecy thing and use that in the forge to get a weapon. Not sure what the deal is with RT2s - apparently, you get them from doing strikes, but I don't think I've had any drop yet.

I did that Fallen one where you climb up all the platforms. On normal, your ghost says there's a timer, but there isn't one. On hard, there is. Once I went over, I was expecting to be kicked out, but it just went "oh well" and I carried on.

 

I assume I missed out on some loot chances, but I don't really get it yet.

Just do Crusible to get the RT2s. Play for a couple of hours and you'll get loads (although you need 30 for Verse 10 - a sword power weapon).

Sometimes you get blue ones drop - which are worth 10 green.

 

So...Basically

10 green RT1s = 1 advance RT1 (blue)

And same with the RT2.

 

With the RT1s as you say, open chests and have patrols on the go. But also ensure you do the prisoner/theft battles on Mercury.

If you get the convoy ship, that fires some powerful ammo. With skill you can do that mission alone using that ship and your supers to defeat the two bosses.

Then a power weapon to defeat the 3 other things that run off.
