Other than perhaps doing a meditation, which I've not tried yet, no idea.

I tried meditation (on and off the game) It is both still there and it continues to annoy the shit out of me.

Did you get the exotic she gives you after you do a heroic adventure (I think)? Might be on a different character?

I do have the exotic. And have only done Osiris on one character. Maybe I can just let it go and ignore it.

Spoiler

I can't let it go.:(

The Dawning

0h - Destiny Dev Team

“The Traveler is awake. For Humanity, a new Golden Age has begun. This year's Dawning is unlike any other—it's not just the renewal that a new year brings, but the dawn of something greater. Now more than ever, we must gather together in the Tower, at the Farm, and all across the system to give thanks. Our Light has returned—and it illuminates everything around us."

—Ikora Rey, Warlock Vanguard

Happy Dawning to All

It may be cold outside, but there's a warmth in the air. As the year comes to an end, the Tower and Farm are decorated with festive cheer. It's a time to celebrate your Light.

Snowball Fights

Guardians aren't just arming themselves with weapons. There are snowball piles everywhere you look. In the Tower and at the Farm, you can tag your friends for bragging rights. In Strikes, you can blast an enemy with a snowball to stun them and deal big damage. Stay frosty out there.

Mayhem in the Cold

Keep your blood warm and your heart pumping in the Crucible. Mayhem is back, so your abilities recharge faster. Point values are cranked up enough to melt the ice. It's anarchy—and it's awesome.

Milestones of Winter

Engage in Crucible Mayhem or become legend in Strikes and you'll be rewarded. Every week, complete a milestone for a Dawning engram. Get in the giving mood with new consumables that give rewards to everyone you're playing with. If there’s a specific Dawning item that you have your heart set on, Tess will refresh her inventory each week, enabling you to use your Bright Dust reserves for your holiday shopping. On one week or another during the three-week event, you’ll find every Dawning-themed exotic (ship, ghost, sparrow, emote) and every Dawning-themed legendary armor piece on her shelves.

Gifting and Receiving

Pick up a Dawning Gift Schematic from the Bazaar. Venture to other worlds and craft a unique gift for the vendors and agents you find in the Tower and beyond. Then, give the lucky recipient their gift and receive a gift in return. You can participate in the season of giving every day of the event.

The Dawning begins on Tuesday, December 19.

The Dawning ends on Tuesday, January 9.

Let’s usher in a new year, and a new Golden Age together.

Edit: not posting the TWAB, as its all just waffle and back patting that I can see, with nothing noteworthy, other than its the last one for 2017.

No mention of whats in the Dawning Engram each week, but its likely to be either an armour piece, or some consumables, meaning you wont get the full set before the event ends without getting it from Eververse.

Also no mention of what gifts you get from vendors when you give them something either. Probably consumables I suspect, maybe tokens.

Clearly a reaction to everyone's disappointment at the being no festival of the lost. Could be really nice...

Wait, what?

You can get a Dawning Engram per character per week.

3 weeks long.

No way to get full Armor sets with everiss

What? You missed the most important thing - the launch of the new Destiny web comic, the first issue of which fleshes out Osiris' story.

Quote

Destiny’s first-ever original comic short is written by Eisner-winning,New York Times bestselling writer Ryan North (Dinosaur Comics, Marvel’s The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) in collaboration with our own super talented Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris narrative lead Christine Thompson, with interior art by Destiny community fan favorite Zé Carlos. Here’s a peek at the cover, by Marcio Takara (All-New Wolverine).

Osiris was once the champion of the Last City. Vanguard Commander. Seeker of secrets and discoverer of wonders. And then everything changed. How did Osiris go from hero to traitor?

Coming soon, for free, on Bungie.net!

I do think it's funny that Bungie were criticised for writing all that lore into the grimoire which you could collect in-game yet not read in-game. So they decide to bin the grimoire altogether... and replace it with something you can neither collect nor read in-game. Still, far fewer words I suppose. They've probably concluded comics will make a better marketing tool than thousands of those obscure and difficult-to-understand lexical units. How would you explain them to your mates or, heaven forfend, have an actual conversation about them? Sheesh.

Fleshes it out....

Why not put that in the latest dlc, which ironically has his name in the title.?

Edit: forgot to mention, no srl this year, though with the way sparrows are being given out with random perks it would be a bit of a mess at present.

I guess it’s my turn to be ‘that guy’ in the thread because that all sounds fun enough and I don’t care enough about cosmetics to be bothered about not getting them all.

Also TWAB has this, which is relevant:

Ikora Waypoint: We have identified an issue where players are witnessing a waypoint over Ikora when they do not have enough tokens for a reputation package. This is currently under investigation

All the noise made me curious to try this (no such thing as bad publicity!) so I’ve just reached the demo level cap on pc. I also tried Warframe which the ‘Bungie has lost it’ crowd alway suggest as the replacement.

I much prefer the atmosphere and the Halo-esque gameplay of Destiny though, but am slighty put of by how much it will cost, especially with the first expansion being released so soon. How many are going to be churned out a year?

The problem is all cosmetics are behind Eververse now. I find that pretty crap in all honesty.

I should clarify that the rest sounds fine to me, I mean Mayhem Clash would certainly make the Crucible far more entertaining than it is now, and snowballs and ice hockey are a neat addition.

I've tried Warframe (not as much as other people, admittedly), but I didnt think it was that great, certainly not a Destiny replacement.

We dont know what's after the next dlc (Rasputin themed by the look of it), but Bungie put out 2 small dlc's and then a larger expansion for Destiny 1, so it will likely be the same.

The current base game and expansion pass covers the first just released expansion and another one which is due in Spring next year.

It's probably the worlds worst secret but there'll likely be a larger expansion in September 2018, which will probably be about £40.

Edit, as Ben said

For all the criticism of Eververse / micro transactions / Bungie my time with Destiny 2 had me absolutely swimming in engrams / exotics / gear / shaders. Ultimately they seemed to get the balance right for me despite the XP bar controversy. The new stuff in Curse of Osiris and the concept of master works has reignited my interest. Having dabbled in Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Fortnite and Overwatch during my Destiny 2 hiatus it’s just so apparent that absolutely nobody can beat Bungie for the feel of shooting something on screen. They just need to fix the endgame now and they’ll have got to were they should have been on day 1. Admittedly I’ve ranted and got caught up in the internet hive mind but I’m prepared to see through that now. They are on the right path.

Definitely on the right path, yes. I do still have a sort of fundamental objection to the fact that they're framing it as a collection game, then making a load of that collectable stuff only available through loot boxes, and then not giving you enough space to store it all. The storage thing is just baffling to me, there are no interesting decisions to make and you do not make a player feel good by forcing them to delete things they've earned fair and square. I've got mods sat in the postmaster which will stay there forever because I can't be bothered to clear inventory space so I can get them from the postbox and then delete them. I'd just like to shoot things with mad guns, please.

In terms of game systems though, yes, they're certainly on the right bearing.

They take away from the mystery somewhat given in the DLC:

Spoiler

Ikora doesn't mention it, they trade banal praise and then she invites him back to the city.

So yeah, whatever it was must have been super important.

Gives you an exotic that you’ve never had before. Even if you disassembled one in the past it’ll still count. Basically a guarantee of getting something you haven’t had. Not sure if it’s class specific or across all classes, I.e. if I cash it in as a Hunter I hope it only gives me Hunter (or classless) exotics.

It might be limited to 1 per account per week too, fingers crossed you get an exotic for the class that buys it.
