They do. The stats showed around 1.8 million in PVE and around 800,000 in PVP

They want a slice of the e-sports pie, it’s a joke tho as no hope it will ever get taken on but sadly there Bungo forgot what made Halo such a great competitive game and why Destiny never will be without fundamental changes that they have no interest/ability to do.

Nightfall is The Inverted Spire with Momentum and Rings; 12 minutes for normal and eight for Prestige.

There doesn't appear to be any raid challenge up yet.

The faction rally has started.

But the real news for people craving the important endgame content is that Eververse is selling the Flip Out emote. For 3250 dust.

Enjoy D2, Guardians.

Still not done all the adventures on either of my Story complete dolls. I'm part way through the story with a third doll as well now. I'm not sure I've done all of the mission quests with either yet.

I have found a spreadsheet that has all the legendary and exotic weapons on it, so am now just trying to collect them all. Thing is, when you're not sharding everything it's harder to level up. My main has just pipped 291, while the alt is at 280 (easier second time round, obviously).

Me and the boy had a crack at Nightfall this week as part of the Rat Crew Quest thing. We didn't make it very far.

Got to say I'm loving the pvp in this, sure we are just doing quickplay, and the bit I enjoy is when we "pwn the n00bs". Haven't tried Trial of Nines yet.

PvP on PC is really incredibly fun. I am having a blast as well. seems like quite a healthy population in terms of finding you an easy or balanced match most of the time. I find the skill on PS4 at the moment to be significantly higher. probably on account of people having way more experience with the game. I just did not expect to find this much of a difference.

The Leviathan challenge shows now (and has been completed already, because... it's how many people normally do it anyway, being the easiest way to do it).

The challenge is in the Gauntlet. It is:

Spoiler

During the running parts, you can't have the same person step on the same plate twice during the same phase. In other words, you simply use the rotation method. Which is what you'd do anyway on normal mode if you have any sense.

Not really a challenge then. I guess it'd be tricky in Prestige because that doesn't favour this method, what with the extra counsellor and everything.

There is one added complication

Spoiler

On the third round (when the platforms move up and down) you must have one of your team swap with the runner so that the previous runner can hold platforms.

Just the third time? That'd be odd. There seems to be conflicting information about this, some thinking you need to swap runners each time (i.e. the Prestige strat, but without the counsellor), some saying it's succeeded even where they didn't do this. It'd be weird if it were just a swap for the third run though.

Meh, dunno. I also don't know why I'm even thinking about it, as I won't be doing it anyway. Force of habit I guess.

This is how to do it.

Spoiler

Set up two teams - Runner, Shoot top guy, Shoot Bottom Guy.
Start the two teams opposite sides as usual
Round 1 - Follow your runner round, Shoot top guy jumps on plates and Shoot bottom guy punches psions.
Round 2 - Do the same except this time Shoot bottom guy jumps on the plates and shoot top guy punches psions.
Round 3 - Shoot top guy becomes the runner, the previous runner now becomes shoot top guy and jumps on the plates as you go round.
Everybody runs bit is the same, team one gets first, third and fifth orbs, second team gets second and fourth.

Aye, I just think it's weird that they graft in

Spoiler

... the Prestige mechanics to normal mode, but (edit) ah, I get it now. I think you have the second part wrong by the look of things: everyone has to do everything, so it's role rotate per phase, plus plate rotate within each phase. You can't have the same runner twice, or the same anything else.

Massive edit as I just looked it up on reddit. Makes more sense now.

For an emblem? They really have stuffed the reward system up in this game thus far.

Well its not worth doing them for an emblem, especially when its not even a purple one that tracks anything. Same with the prestige completion.

The armour may look nice, but its purely cosmetic. Guild Wars 2 had the same issue, and they lost a lot of players (including my entire pvp guild). Hoping they are getting the picture from how few people are doing challenge modes/prestige.

I don’t know what’s going on but I’ve just been matched three games in a row against teams of four in the same clan in the crucible. Once I was with a team of three but the other two were me and other randoms getting destroyed without managing any kills. Not sure why it would suddenly happen (falling player numbers?) but if this is what it’s like I’m done with that part of the game.

Edit: Fourth time in a row, against the same team as last time. I think maybe the player numbers have dipped so far there’s not enough teams to match them against each other.

RNG is shite when you’re looking for something specific. Or even when you’re not, I’ve gotten 305 grenade launchers and shotguns from my powerful engrams every week for three weeks now. Never having any new choices saps even my enthusiasm for the game. I did my milestones today, might run a nightfall at some point but I’m just the same as I was before because the engrams are giving me the same things every week.

Welcome to the end game, later than the rest but I see you’re on board the train to nowhere.

Well not really, I’m fine with the activities, fine with the token system and fine with the grind. I could just do without complete random chance. I’d prefer if it was weighted towards giving me different stuff rather than either being genuinely random or for some reason leaning towards giving me the same things every week.

It does seem crazy that we can't really work towards any specific legendary guns. I'd really like a good legendary rocket launcher but I've probably had about 5 drop in the entire time I've played Destiny 2 at a powerful level even worth considering.

Roll on Monster Hunter World.

I still maintain one of the biggest damned problems. is there are no fucking rolls so there is no incentive to repeat activities like there were in D1. My vault is stuffed and most of the time my postbox is just on repeat because there is literally no incentive for weapons because if you have one, you do have them all

What about that sword from NM, that’s only the same as four others?

Really? The game's been out over two months and there's no sign yet of the HDR patch for PS4 Pro that was said to be coming 'soon after launch'. I expect they'll both come out at the same time, which might not be too long given they always said the PC would get HDR first (which it now has).

Though to be fair, an HDR patch is probably something I'd put at the very bottom of their 'things to be working on' list.

It's still 30fps. Do people get a lot of chugginess/frame rate drops on PS4? I run it on a Pro and can't say it's not a pretty solid 30. Are they maybe comparing its One X performance to OG One when they say it's smoother? Maybe it does drop frames on the OG One, dunno.

I don't think Activision's marketing deal with Sony has any impact at all on how the game runs technically, especially on other hardware. People point to some 'secret clause' in it favouring development on the Sony platform but there's no evidence that it exists at all. Unless Sony also stipulate in their secret agreement with Bungie that they shouldn't bother releasing the game in HDR on Sony's flagship until months after it's been released, I wouldn't get too het up about the power of this secret agreement to make the PS4 look great. After all, the only place it runs in HDR is still on MS Windows, and the only place it'll ever hit 60fps (and above) is there too. I think it's more likely they're framerate-limited by the CPU on both machines and can't hit a solid 60 on either for this reason, as they said (given that they want all the other graphical bells and whistles intact). And since they haven't got HDR going on Pro yet, and will probably release a patch for that when they do the same for Xbox, I think we should probably discount the secret conspiracy theory until it actually makes more sense than the more obvious explanation give by Bungie.

COD WWII is 4K and HDR on Bone X despite Activision’s deal with Sony, so I expect that when they arrive it’ll be at the same time. I doubt we’ll see it before the first DLC drops, and maybe some time after that. It’ll be a smart way of bringing people back to the game without needing new content, so probably makes sense to save it for a lull. I’m ok with that to be honest. I have an Xbox One X but still can’t face running through that blessed campaign again.
