Maybe it will have a new raid then, but the fact they've not even mentioned it in this trailer is quite odd. I suspect it wont be that big as a result, if it is a new raid of course.

Please dont be another Prison of Elders (but with 6 people)....

4 people Prison of Mida Osiris

It was a simple retool of the Leviathan, or something like what you said. Vex on the Leviathan instead of Cabal maybe.

"New Raid Content" does sound like a re-use of some assets, and VoG would be "new" to a lot of players in D2, so it would sort of make sense, it being the best raid in vanilla D1. Odd that the trailer gives no indication of what is in the expansion, besides returning weapons (apparently Telesto is there as well, and someone saw "No Time to Explain" too) and some new-ish armour though.

1.13 is Jade Rabbit me thinks...

Hope they tie it to a quest this time. It's one of the few guns I really, really wanted in D1 but never had it drop and Xur obviously never sold it back then because it was one of the dumb PS4 exclusives.

"New Raid content" sounds suspiciously different to "New Raid."

is It that they'll add another roo, to the Leviathan? Wouldn't surprise me, the setting feels like it was built to be modular.

This line of thinking does not please me, and is quite possibly correct. This plus some enhanced armour and weapons, light level, and reason for completing the raid i.e. an actual conclusion to it. In other words, the rest of the raid they made.

This thought is not having a beneficial effect on my digestion.

There's footage of crucible gameplay starting from 3:33 in the below video, showing some more new guns being used on a new map (set on Titan in the Arcology), as well as armour (exotics to boot - Graviton Forfeit is one) - Interesting selfie thing at the end as well (obviously an emote, but how its so close up I dunno):

Dunno how Byf got hold of this footage, as no-one else has it in their videos and its not been released by Bungie as far as I can tell.

Also someone in the comments spotted "frozen" guardians in the background as Osiris is sliding into cover, so that footage is probably their failed Vault of Glass raid. As a result I cant see VoG coming back, unless its somehow relevant to the story (mission, not a raid, maybe a strike at a push). So the whole Leviathan modular thing is looking more likely, unfortunately.

Nightfall is The Arms Dealer again, this week with Prism and Killing Time. Normal puts 11 minutes on the clock, Prestige starts you with seven. A carbon copy of week one's NF then.

Flashpoint is EDZ, raid challenge goes up at 5pm GMT.

Edit: bonus NF info, for anyone who can't remember - the Prism cycle is solar > void > arc. Each polarisation lasts for 31(!) seconds (or maybe it's 30 with a second to transition; same difference really). It starts on solar.

Yusss.

Incidentally, for those who are doing it, the raid challenge starting tonight is Soapy Time, but the order is Pet Cemetery > Sports Day > Soapy Time > Jabba the Twat so you'll have to do all the other things before you can do the thing, apart from the last thing.

Be well up for anyone who'd like to drag me through the Nightfall, particularly prestige, as didn't get a chance to do it last week after a couple of attempts. Hopefully I can hide behind you all if possible. Be on late UK time or the weekend.

Despite my not being a massive fan of PoE (CoE tho), I'd much rather it was a PoE-style affair than just another room unlocked on the Leviathan. I admit I'm not keen on the raid per se, but regardless of that, just adding an extra room (which was obviously there as part of the design phase) to any raid and calling that the end game of the next DLC just rubs me up the wrong way for some reason. Especially when that raid felt 'oddly' inconclusive the first time around and the HM didn't do anything to raise light levels, and if the new setup changes that.

Unfortunately, I can see them associating 'raid' with '6 person fireteam' and I doubt a new PoE-style thing would be 6-person, so... hopefully I'm wrong. I hope so because imo their best content so far in D2 is the NFs and PNFs, and sticking some new modifiers and limitations on frenetic small-scale battles seems something they've got a better handle on these days than more MMORPG-ish fare like raids and raid incentives.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the point of the level cap? I can see why there's a level cap in the base game, as it restricts new players to certain activities and certain gear, but why bother in the expansions? If you're at 280+ power already, then presumably you don't need to be funnelled towards particular activities for fear of overwhelming you.

I don't really know what the point of the level cap is any more, to be honest. Or for the most part - i.e after the first week or two - the point of levels at all. I guess it's so you have to play the DLC/expansion to upgrade the same weapons and armour to viable levels for the new game. But if you have the DLC you'll be playing the new game anyway, so... I dunno.

It makes more sense in a more progression-based game where there are lots of tiers of difficulty created, and gated at least in part by requiring a successful completion of the previous tier. Like in an MMO, where the end game gives the highest-level rewards. D1 (for the most part) worked largely like this, the classic example being doing the raid to get the highest light level, then the HM raid increasing that further, so the more sections you completed, the more gear you got that helped you go further. But D2 so far doesn't really tier or reward like that - I could go on patrol or do a public event, or do literally nothing and get a clan engram, which would be as powerful (both in terms of levels and perks) as the raid gear from the Prestige Leviathan. And the HM raid rewards with nothing functionally at all (the enemies are all higher level then your level cap and that doesn't ever change even if you beat it).

So I dunno what the point of the levels really are any more. They might as well do away with them and just say 'here's the content, but you can't do the Nightfalls until you've done some strikes, or the raid until you've done a Nightfall.' Which isn't far off what they have now anyway, just it has some fairly meaningless levels put on top.
