This website is quite handy for any collectors out there wondering what they are missing https://light.gg/

Handy find. Weird though, it says I'm missing some of the emblems that were for doing the books in D1, such as Saladins Pride. Pretty sure I got them.

personally I don't mind the timed nightfall concept and I think they should always have one buff or something that would encourage you to play differently, try a different class, or a different weapon. for example, hand cannons do twice damage or power weapons do 3 times the damage. but whoever thought it would be fun to have a timer that you need to extend by exploring deserves to be fired on the spot. running through a level trying to frantically find oracles is a fucking travesty of game design. it is as much fun as trying to find the car keys that day you overslept for the new role meeting. it is just baffling that someone whose job title is 'game designer' got paid for coming up with that fucking idiotic system.

EDIT: Also, having a modifier that's a debuff (such as your health does no regenerate) is almost as stupid but not quite.

The things you need to shoot are always in the same place though, at least on prestige, so you just know where they are every time. The health debuff can GTFO mind. That is one shitty modifier to have, especially with no beneficial one to the player to go with it like on that duff Exodus strike weeks back. That strike needs Torrent for it to be decent, let alone fun. Worst strike in the game.

This is ridiculous, the game hasn't even been out two months yet and I have every exotic weapon except Borealis and Legend of Acrius, plus all of the hunter exotics :(

I have all the exotic weapons, all the armour on my Titan, and only need Rigs for my Hunter and the Ahamkara helm for my Warlock. At this point in D1, I'd still not have had Mida (let alone Hawkmoon, Gjallorhorn, etc.), and nowhere near half of the exotic armour for the 3 classes. Its a bit odd how easy and plentiful exotics are to get in D2 compared to D1.

What’s the power requirement for the prestige nightfall?

It's a recommended 300 (not sure what the lockout is, but it's a fair bit lower). Quite doable at under that level if you're tight, and although I've not had a go yet, this one's likely to be among the easiest - Arms Dealer has lots of skippable adds, hence playing into Zero Hour quite well, and Torrent just makes everything better, i.e. turns Destiny 2 into Destiny 1: ability spam a go-go. So I reckon anyone who usually shies away from PNFs but just wants one for the trophy should go for this one. (Though sod that - they're the best content in the game and worth logging on for every week. Unless, y'know, it's Exodus plus no health regen. Not fun.)

Head over to wastedondestiny.com and then think for a minute if you ever normally get that much gameplay out of a game in two months.

Yeah I'm missing stuff that I met the requirements for in D1 :( Maybe they'll fix them at some point.

After three years and four expansions! You’ve played over 250 hours of a game over two months and not quite got everything. Other than D1, what kind of games offer that much value?!

I had all exotics bar Raid in well under 100 hours on this, every Warlock exotic and most Hunter and every legendary gun multiple times - I’m sat with over 1000 shards and nothing to spend them on.

Nothing to do with value, Ive had my monies worth but there is nothing for me to play for and that’s the difference between them - always goals on Destiny like exotics to get, rolls on guns and armour and reasons to rinse the Raids week in week out.

Interesting - that daily unique users chart that tracks the number of people logging in to an activity each day, which everyone seemed fond of posting, has been removed from Destiny Tracker: http://destinytracker.com/destiny/reports/daily-population

Quote

We've removed this chart because people are using it to spread a false narrative of the Destiny 2 player population. Daily Unique users is a misleading statistics to use as basis for the active population of the game, any game in that matter. Not everyone plays video games 24/7, besides maybe at launch. We hoped our article would've cleared this up a bit but it seems it hasn't. To halt people from making false narratives based on the numbers we provide we decided to stop showing them in this chart.

Obviously, the graph only showed how many people logged on each day, rather than, say, each week - so it didn't really define how 'active' the game is in a week-to-week or per-hour sense, merely how many people engaged in at least one activity per day. But the narrative is hardly likely to be clearer now it's based even more strongly on speculation and even less on actual data. At least previously you could have pointed out any interpretative errors.

I’m confused how the “Destiny is down 50% on D1” and “Daily users are dropping off” stories correlate with the “D2 is the year’s best selling game” one?

I doubt Destiny 2 got close to the sales of Division, remember that game?

Physical sales are down. I suspect a larger majority of D2 players got it digitally, compared to D1, especially after realising D1 was the game most played on their console, so didnt want to make the same mistake.

Years best selling game likely takes every sale into account (not read the article, so I could be wrong). Daily users are dropping off though, but its far worse in crucible than pve, as most players have gotten to 300+ so dont need to do the weekly milestone for that, coupled with crucible just not being as enjoyable as in D1.

Yes three years and four expansions and I don't have all of them meanwhile in two months I have all bar two. It's nothing to do with value, it's to do with them handing the bloody things out like sweeties.

I've played Elder Scrolls games for longer than this.

For new PC players there is a thread in the online folder with some useful videos and some information about rllmukers jumping on on the PC version. This thread is mostly dominated by lesser 'console' people. And also hunters.

Is anyone selling the PC version for the price of one normal PC flavoured videogame? Not really keen on spunking £45 the same week Wolfenstein and Mario are out.

I've seen a key on the trade folder.

Kinda, but it was much easier to ignore “different coloured beanie hats and puffer jackets” than Destiny’s space RPG so I never played it.

Destiny 2 has far more in common with The Division than Destiny;  shite end game + woeful PvP = playerbase freefall

Is there a compelling reason to/not to sign into that (presumably) 3rd party site using my Bungie ID/MS Account/PSN Account - I’m assuming MS & PSN as I use those on Bungie.

It redirected me to bungie.net and asked me to verify through that rather than signing in separately so I think if you’re logged in on your browser it should be safe enough.

I can’t believe there’s only three exotic sparrows and I have them already!

Holy shit. Some people have played 354 hours of Destiny 2!??!?!

That's fifteen days in total. I thought my 100 hours was a lot!!

As predicted, this week's Nightfall is an absolute doodle. We didn't manage to get the Dream Team together tonight (RIP Weavus), so to kill time we decided to two-man the normal mode and offer it as a series of guided games to get some Oathkeeper ticks for the clan - which mean nothing currently, but you never know what bone Bungie might throw as encouragement at the end of the season to get more clans to participate. Maybe a nice tassle on the banner or something.

Anyway, it's totally simple to two-man it first time with tons of time to spare it even if you play as sloppy as sloppy can be. So I'm absolutely certain this will be by far the easiest Prestige with a full team. If you're after that trophy, now's the week to get it. And in the unlikely event that many people still have the Rat King quest to do, this is the place to do it: there's no way you're not going to finish the normal with more than 5 minutes remaining.

I've just got into this. Never played the first one really but this is pretty good. Feels like a natural progression of Halo into something akin to Borderlands/Mass effect.

One of those games where i'm glad i missed the first really - if some reviews are to be believed (of it not having a huge amount more).

Ok, so someone datamined voicelines out of the PC version. Now, we all know how Bungie like to cut stuff, but these are strong possibilities as there are new voice lines in game referring to them. I’m planning to do a little listening myself to see what I can find, so I’ll report back.

Returning stuff:

Spoiler

Old Russia, Venus, Mars and Dreadnaught patrol zones

Crimson Days, SRL, Festival of the Lost

The Reef and the Prison of Elders, along with Petra and MA BOI VARIKSSSSSS

The Black garden and *whisper it so people don’t get too hyped* the vault of glass.

New stuff:

Spoiler

Ganymede, Phobos, Mercury and “The  Myriad” all apparently sound like new patrol zones.

Shiro on Mercury and Osiris at the tower.

New Speaker

Worms on the moon?

@Broker

We know FotL and PoE aren’t returning as Bungie have confirmed as such. The rest is basically everything from the first game and I suspect that’s just leftover code as it’s pretty clear this is just a souped version of the D1 engine.

The one thing they have confirmed is The Dawning (Christmassy stuff) which isn’t in that list so I wouldn’t put too much faith in it at all.

New stuff sounds likely though. One of the planets is confirmed as the new area of the DLC
