I guess people can’t tell same with 30/60 FPS but the rest of the internet is complaining and that tech dude is testing at the moment but has already said the lag is very poor thus far in his findings. I would put a compilation of today’s play together to show the issue, I don’t believe for a second anyone can claim there is no lag in the game but I have to turn the game off for my own sanity as it’s simply no fun to play!

Ah yes, the rest of the internet. Nobody on the front page of Reddit, nobody on the bungie forums, no results from the last two years if you google "iron banner lag". It's definitely a problem with everyone else, not Shimmy, and one that everyone aside from Rllmuk is discussing.

Just turned in tokens at 305 light to Saladin and everything was 300 - got the arms (probably the best armour piece for Titan as they arent big and bulky like the others) and the fusion rifle on my Titan. Needs additional testing, as he may be on rotation with the other vendors.

 

Edit: Reddit reporting its always 300 drops when your 300+ power.

Isn't max power without a mod 300 though so it will drop at 300 and you add a mod to get to 305?

Where are you based? Are you in Australia? 

 

Do you run WiFi or cabled? If cabled, are your Cat-6’s shielded?

 

Have you suspended background downloads? Just ask @FiniteLight :lol:

 

What is your ping like?

 

Which service provider do you use?

 

What NAT type are you on?

 

What is your line quality like? 

 

What TV/monitor do you use? Are you in game mode?

 

Is your PS4 connected straight to the TV or through an AV or sound bar?

Reddit - check the IB megathread. 

Bungie forums - check the crucible sub forum.

Google - literally thousands of posts about it.

 

I know you’re the thread prick but at least look into it - IB is famous for being the worst crucible mode due to how matchmaking works with connection quality being very low priority so it’s full of red bar connections so much so Bungie now don’t show connections as they’re obv embarrassed about them.

Shimmy is in Norfolk so the fact he's connected to the internet at all and hasn't had his house burned down and family tried for witchcraft from the local snaggletoothed farmers and crones is a feat itself.

Hard wired, open NAT with 300mb broadband and proper router etc - it’s the only game that I get such issues regardless if solo or in a fireteam and no matter who is hosting the fire-team I don’t have any noticeable input lag and game mode on telly with amp passing through no processing etc turned off

 

Part if the issue is no doubt playing in the day time when ELO matching is harder in a smaller pool of local players.

 

Destiny/2 are the only games with such consistent issues and anything else I play shows a low ping + good connection quality and I don’t have lag issues in said games (BF4/1, TF2, Overwatch, R6, Halo 5, splats etc etc)

 

This is the last game I played and the top player in here was almost impossible to kill, at best you often traded and I’m sure @Racoon who I was online with will back up how bad the connections have been today - I had no fun at all in a game on the face of it I did ok in and had to stop as it was winding me up much as this thread has proven (sorry @Broker)

In all seriousness though, I’ve noticed that the latency in Destiny 2 is far better for me than it was in Destiny 1. D1 went through a very rough period after Bungie mucked about with the matchmaking settings.

 

I would be genuinely interested in seeing some examples of what you’ve encountered so far, as in the evenings when I generally play, it seems pretty solid.

So many swords. So many MIDAs. Well, I have MIDA stuff too but I'm using other things. :blush:

 

Also had this great glitch where I earned a bright engram and the massive yellow symbol stayed onscreen until the match ended. Best secret visual filter. :hmm:

Mida is better at range and autos better up close - VW has a small window of being decent, hopefully pulse weapons will get a boost at some point as outside VW they are in a bad place, VW only works as it’s a 5 burst with horizontal kick so easy to aim and land.

 

Mind there is a sidearm that’s a bit silly at the moment but eww sidearms are for actual scrubs ;)

Vigilance has sky rocketed. But will not be as good. The radar being up is a big deal for high level play.

I think it would go well with last hope which is great at extreme close ranges. I don't personally love vigilance for PvP as I can't figure out its optimum range and it seems too similar in range with urial, which I can't do without. I played with knucklehead today too @Muz Boom!

Yeh I don't get it either. 4 players but maps are smaller and only one person is required to take a zone. It's about the same. It just requires a bit more team coordination. And we all know team coordination drops the most wonderful loot of all: friendship:wub:
