Can folk please keep the nightfall strategies coming?

We got to the boss on both attempts but entered the room with 1:30 on the clock and then 4:30 on the next go. Got it down to about 1/4 health. Deaths prior to that were a problem as was presumably hanging around killing stuff we didn’t need to.

Not sure what is and isn't sarcasm anymore. I think I've got like 35 shards. Worth picking up Vigilance Wing?

And Iron Banner - is that basically level 300 or don't even bother?

Not this time it seems. IB has no level consideration.

Also, 35 shards? . Dismantle those legendaries, man.

Vigilance wing is ok. Nothing great. Its certainly not gonna replace Mida in crucible anytime soon which is what its focus is.

Just checked and I've got about 60 with plenty of gear that I need to decide on either infusing at some point down the line (only one or two things) and then a lot of stuff which is just kinda a shotgun/rocket launcher/sword for all three energy types. At some point it'll get dismantled for shards.

Panda lost all his between Weds & Thurs, we only got them Wednesday night.

I had the same last week. Both characters had been on since reset, 3 keys in my inventory one night, the next night 2 had vanished. Things like that, and the tepid at best loot, are the reason I'm taking a break from raiding :(

Does the boss appear when you plug the second void ball in?

This is what I wrote up for my team:

First room 1:

Objective: get to the door and activate your Ghost ASAP

Priority target: Witch (solar shield)

One person opens the door, the others focus on the wizard.

First room 2:

Objective: Clear out the Hive ASAP

Priority target: Two Knights on pedestals (Arc shields)

Focus on one Knight at the time, get them out of the way and the rest of the adds should be easy.

Through the door:

Use supers to melt the Ogre ASAP so we can progress

Not sure if you need to kill the knights as well. The ogre can be chipped away out from way back, meaning the knights can’t see you.

Big hallway with void ball

Objective: grab the ball and plug it into the socket ASAP

Priority target: Witch (Void shield)

As soon as the ball is in the socket we can leg it.

Purple rock cave 1:

destroy 6 purple rocks ASAP and leg it.

Double Ogre room:

Objective: kill both ogres - save supers for this bit!!

Ogre 1

Hang back on stairs where you can chip away at the ogre and use the stairs/balcony for cover. Steer well clear of the right flank which is packed with knights.

Clear out the arc knights that block the path to ogre 2.

Ogre 2

Really need to clear witches (solar shields) in order to get a clear shot at the Ogre. No point trying to kill the ogre if the witches are bombarding you.

Purple rock cave 2

destroy 6 purple rocks ASAP

Purple ball run 2

We didn’t do so well on this. I think it might make sense to focus just on clearing a path, then taking the ball from start to finish when it’s possible to get through without getting iced. No point having one person holding the ball instead of shooting.

I lost track of what baddies were on this bit. Seemed to be a bit of everything! I think there were some void shielded wizards.

Pick the ball up (spawns all the enemies so you have to) and bring it with you and keep dropping/picking it back up as you clear each section on the way to the dunk point so it does not respawn back at the start.

We pretty much killed everything in the nightfall on both normal and prestige, I think the only time we skipped a kill was the first ball knight who spawns after the dunk. I left him holding a grenade as a momento of our visit but I'm not sure if he's still there wondering where all his buddies went. I imagine we could have skipped a lot more but I always feel a civic duty to ice every last motherfucker in there.

I'm afraid not, when you are past that there are a couple of wizards, then you drop down a hole, loads of exploding thralls down there. Then you're in the boss room which is a huge shrieker. With ogres, knights and wizards a plenty

So I'm the only one who thinks that armour all looks naff, then?

Im with you. It's not to my taste, although I'll no doubt be tempted to go after the Titan set for completionists sake (and in case any of it looks better with certain shaders).

Yeah he's in the EDZ

Vigilance Wing - 29 shards

Foetracer (Hunter) - 23 shards

An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan) - 23 shards

Nezarec's Sin (Warlock) - 23 shards

Damn, have all that. Was hoping for one of the exotic grenade launchers, as I want to see what they're like, not having either. I should have known it'd be Vigilance Wing, what with a PvP activity coming next week though.

The Iron Banana gear.....Hunter is easily the best with that helmet/mask. The Titan and Warlock could be interchangeable, they look so alike (apart from the horns on the Titan set). The only helm I like in the game (exotics aside) is the raid helmet....probably explains why I've had like 6 of them now

I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious, but is there a clan chat or anyway to flag yourself as looking for a fire team when you're online?

I'm a bit lost as to what the etiquette is for finding people to play with...

I normally just look at the clan roster and see who's doing what and if anyone is solo/coupled in crucible or patrol I either ping them a message or invite them to a party chat if I fancy doing something in a fireteam. Most people are more than happy to team up (unless they are off comms for a particular reason or not stopping long) so don't be afraid to ask!

Uriels has silly range for an auto rifle, its probably why its used so often in crucible.

High Calibre rounds as well. The next best thing, The Number from FWC, hasnt got that, and slightly less range. I suspect if there is a nerf to any guns, this perk will be the first hit. It certainly was the only nerf to Mida in D1.

It's god tier due to the HCR and Tap the Trigger perks. Tap the Trigger means your first 6 or so shots are very tight and have a high chance of landing and coupled with the current flinch HCR gives means you win many more 1-1 encounters where you both shoot roughly at the same time.

must also have a very high aim assist stat. I find the reticle super sticky. and when you get the ball rolling with headshots it is unstoppable. almost at any range. if I have missed a few shots at the start I normally just disengage and try something different either by looking for another lane or flanking or leaving for team mates.
