Why can't they just get on and do a proper Pike Enterprise show and be done with it. Leave Discovery and Burnham in the year 3000 or wherever they go never to be seen again.

I have decided to NOT watch season three. I just can't support the junk that was season two. If you lot start raving about it having turned some sort of corner and being actually, y'know, decent... then I might watch it.

How are you going to make sense of the Michael Burnham Shared Universe if you don't watch this? You'll have so many questions when she turns up in Picard as his previously unmentioned grandmother.

The greatest travesty of the Trek universe is that this now seems eminently plausible.

Foreshadowing maybe? How awesome would it be if Discovery got a new drive that allowed it drift into new encounters? Burnham just hanging out of a side window, her elbow resting on the edge (somehow) and, of course, a sweet pair of shades over her eyes.

'You got any of those Macguffins, man? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.'

I haven't watched any of it but my gut feeling is that this show is... not popular?

Binge the whole thing and write up a 2000 word essay by the end of the week.

I expect snark.

Good news! If hate-watching at your leisure on Netflix isn't enough for you, you can soon hate-watch at pre-determined times on E4 who have bought the "linear TV " rights.

I have never watched anything of this show, not even a trailer before but this popped up on my recommendations today. This can't be real is it?

It's amazing how that Short Trek thing even looks like bad video fan fiction, never mind the dialogue. It reminded me of the Doctor Who rip-off that used to air on Six TV Oxford, which you've probably never seen but was just as it sounds.

It is.

Discovery is genuinely worse than you think it is.

Holy fuck, I thought it was a parody at first. OH MY GOD.

I didn't even make it to the end of the first season of this utter shit show. I keep reading this thread in amazement that people are still watching while lamenting how shit it all is. It's so shit, an actual shit would be ashamed to be associated with this shit.

I stopped watching this in disgust somewhere around the time we met Mirror Georgiou and think it’s a steaming pile of crap, but I think the silver lining, if any, is Sprite Machine’s post from a few pages back. It almost makes me want to watch the second season.

But I won’t.

It’s funny @HarryBizzle, you think they must have hit rock bottom in S1, and S2 should be learning from those mistakes and getting better. It just sinks lower, despite the bright spot of Captain Pike. God, I hope Picard isn’t this stupid.

It is going to be this stupid isn’t it.

Well at least that way you will always have at least one season of trek that you still have to watch at some point.

The silver lining for me is that it made me watch Star Trek Enterprise, which I gave up on way too early the first time round, and I loved it. It also made me watch The Orville, which I thought looked stupid but couldn't possibly be as stupid as Discovery.
