The personal transporters need to be reigned in.

 * Comedy lizard man: we've all had a laugh, end it now. This cannot continue.

 * It's difficult to show a character making a point of walking away when they can apparate at will. Saru throwing a cream puff for a few steps and then remembering the beam-me-up button lacks gravitas.

 * Discovery's transporter room is staffed by the proto-Chief O'Brien. He will destroy the ship. This needs to be explored.

Yeah, how do these transporters work? When Saru taps his at the end and just beams away, where does it take him?

Is it possible the writers found out SM-G’s acting strength was being able to cry at will, so they wrote it into Every...fucking...episode ?

It is literally every episode now, isn’t it? A quick sob 20 minutes in this week and then full waterworks at the end (the latter because she had once again been called out on her bullshit and was facing the consequences of her own actions). All it’s doing is making Burnham look like some sort of mentally unstable emotional wreck, utterly unable to cope with anything without bursting into tears. Picard would never have stood for this nonsense.

Why is Tilly still an ensign? She seems to be one of the most important people on the discovery. Surely enough crew members have died to open up some new positions.

You have seen Voyager haven't you?  3 years is nothing compared to poor old Harry Kim.

Would agree on Saru, making him Captain was one of the few good decisions they have made.

Spoiler

Having him in direct conflict with Burnham is also good. I hope they keep this going rather than have him kowtowing to Burnham all the time, especially where she is disregarding orders.

So Saru to die at the end of this season and Burnham taking the seat promising to live by his ideals and be responsible. then episode 1 of season 4 she fucks off and does her own thing and leaves the crew behind who have to come and rescue her at the end.

But it's bananas. She was originally quite emotionless, having been raised by vulcans. They seem to have forgotten that, or forgotten to make the overemotionality part of the story.

Burnham is awful. That bit at the end when she says to Saru, "You made the right choice." There didn't seem to be any doubt anyway. I get it, the writer's write it, imagining Burnham eyes filling with salty tears... Burnham understands! What a great person! The viewers will love her even more. Nope, it came across as patronising to Saru.

Stop crying, and stop whispering everything!

It really would be so much better without her.

they could have done this exact episode as an official mission, with a bunch of different crew members involved properly, and we could have learnt a bit about them.
