I said it in the main Sony E3 thread but I hope this is like that good movie one, Spiderman the Movie 2 iirc, which was a bit GTA-y but just not as involved as you'd like as technology just wasn't really up to it.

 

I think a lot of that trailer was cutscenes at best but still, they don't need it to be much more than GTA but with Spidey.

On the Youtube gaming stream, the Insomniac games have said that there is no relation whatsoever between the game and the movie and that the trailer was in-engine.

 

That costume is pants, hopefully there will be tons of unlockable variants.

I think in-engine is fair enough but almost apart from that bit where he's swinging over some cars (and a few of the fight bits), the rest of it looked like cutscenes or at best QTE rather than gameplay as otherwise it was almost too all over the shop with camera moves to know what was going in.

That looks pretty promising, especially liked the bit that Hexx posted a gif of. Costume is a bit weird though. Doesnt look like its the new or old movie costume, so will this even be tied into the film/s?

The "proper" one is whatever one Spidey had when each particular individual was a child and any deviation from that is obviously wrong.

Probably just trying to put their own stamp onna costume. Obviously it would look better if the white was black

My take on the costume is the white on it helps the character stand out a little bit more in the game world.

Some more info from Insomniac:

- Biggest team Insomniac has ever had working on a game
- The large majority of Insomniac is working on it
- Trailer was in-engine
- Everything you saw in that trailer was on current PS4 hardware. Not high-end PS4
- Open world
- Most ambitious Marvel game ever made
- It's been in development for "quite some time"
- It's not connected at all with the upcoming movie
- It'll focus on both Peter Parker and Spider-man
- PS4 exclusive and published by SIE
- They aren't ready to talk about any release timeframe

yeah no release window at all makes me think that this is still relatively early too, despite them saying a lot of people have been working on it. Chrimbo 2017 at earliest
