I can only assume that whoever is responsible for producing this is using it to launder drug money rather than to make a TV series.

Maybe it's a fourth wall plot line.

The highest compliment I can pay is that I didn't hate the first episode. However, the second episode was extremely mixed. The best bits were with the family/personal interactions. Damon Wayans is a great choice for Murtaugh, Clayne Crawford as Riggs not so much but maybe he'll grow into this version. They seem to be overly reliant on 'event-of-the-week' scenarios and I'm going to stick with it for now, but I can't see this being renewed unless it moves into a season long story arc with some really decent writing.

I actually thought both episodes so far have been really good.

My issue being though is that yes, it's a "event of the week" type show. When watching episode 1 i really thought they would be doing this, but it appears it's not the case.

However, it's a really good cast and it's better than some of the other shows i've tried to get into. MUCH better than the Rush Hour tv series (not that it's hard).

Will it be cancelled? All these reboots seem to get low ratings so who knows. Lethal Weapon is one of the shows i hope does well though.

It's actually pretty decent fun, way better than it deserved to turn out..

What's even more amazing is Damon Wayans is older ~now~ than Danny Glover was after he finished the 4th movie..

Yet he looks younger ( from memory at least)  than Danny glover did in the first film!

I actually thought at first he was to young to play the part until imdbing to find out his age.

So, 9 episodes in and I've actually enjoyed the majority of it. It's been well written for the most part, the characters are being fleshed out well, and they've got a nice handle on the Murtaugh and Riggs dynamics. The biggest surprise has been that Clayne Crawford has been quite enjoyable as Riggs, his emotionality when dealing with his wife issues has been great. Wayans is also great as Murtaugh, his reactions and interactions with Crawford have been spot-on.

think its time for a thread title to change, to "surprisingly entertaining after THAT trailer!"...or summit...im really hoping it gets another season!  i mean, hell hawaii 5-0 has been going for 7 seasons! and this is better than that!

Awesome news.  I was expecting a real car wreck of a show that would be cancelled after about three episodes after I first saw the trailer.  However, I found myself *very* pleasantly surprised and it has turned out to be my favourite new show of the season.

I watched it for the first time last night and I enjoyed it. I've got to admit, when I first read that they were going to make this series I really didn't think that it would work but the chemistry is certainly there with the characters.
