No they aren't holding back stock . No one ever does that , it's a total myth.

 

Day one sales mean fuck all, but as some one that had zero interest in Xbox one I've got a preorder in . Plus you have have loads of one owners rebuying as you did with pspro

 

 

plus Yoshi, boozy, revival , rafaqat , Wallace & ashmatuk are ordering 25 each

Pre-ordering so that I can cancel later on and moan that there's no exclusives.

So my own reasons for not getting one are pretty boring - not enough time, can't justify the cost, etc, but on the whole I don't think MS have made a convincing enough argument to your non-early adopter types. I know they're saying it's not for everyone but apart from banging on about how powerful it is during an unboxing there was hardly any focus on it at all last night.

 

Sony basically dumped the PS4 Pro out without making much of a case for it either, but they're in a totally different position.

 

It'll be interesting to see how well the One X does. I can see it going either way. I think maybe we're far enough into this generation that a big upgrade might look quite appealing to your average gamer.

Watched a couple of minutes of Gamescom gave up came back later and got an Amazon pre order.

 

Will pop into GAME at lunchtime and see what they they are doing as I usually prefer a store pickup and I have a fair amount of store credit I would like to use.

 

Anyone heard if the free Kinect adapter deal is on again?

Surely everyone that buys one at launch is an early adopter?

Typically, yeah, but this isn't really a new console. It's a better version of the already existing model. So no doubt they are also trying to speak to those customers who've held off buying an Xbox One so far.

it's a hard sell, to new customers, at £450. They should have learned that from the original bone launch.

 

I ordered one to extend the lifespan of the games I already own, running on better hardware. Like one might upgrade a pc.

 

I didn't get a ps4 pro, because it was too much of a halfway house, but now I get to play leapfrog with my consoles.

Seems to be in stock most places, bar amazon.

 

I would be tempted to say that the £450 price tag wouldn't have been so high had 51% of the country voted to tank the value of our currency, but it seems that after a quick look online that Best Buy and Gamestop are still taking preorders in the US, so it's not met allocation there.

 

Amazon are out of stock in the UK and the USA. Amazon.De don't seem to even stock it. 

I wonder if Amazon are the only ones that have proper stock control - even including Microsoft's own store? That's surely the only way this can't be a bit of a dampener for Microsoft.

Watchdogs 2, Battlefield 1 and RDR2* also missing from the list.

 

All games with PlayStation partnerships.

 

Is Sony ordering the publishers to shut their mouths about X enhancements or going a step further and buying 'enhancement exclusivity'? Will that be the new 'console launch exclusive' at E3 2018?

 

Also, Overwatch technically has Pro enhancements - if you're a fan of 4k HUDs.

 

*A fair way off but so is Anthem.
