Golf - Good Walks Spoiled

Yeah, Woods looked in worse physical shape than he has in a long while.

Like Rahm at -3, and like you say Westwood and a few other old heads positioned nicely going into Friday.

The misjudgement by the press in the lead up to this has been great, Woods going to break Nicklaus’ 18 majors (although that had died down significantly over the past few weeks) and McIlroy being the favourite. Instead we’re getting a really interesting spread, some great golfers didn’t make the cut (looking at you Big Phil), defending champion Molinari way down the leaderboard and what seems like a bunch of golfers with the physicality of darts players leading the pack going into the weekend.

Makes a nice change from the usual athletic, photogenic good brand sponsors being talked about!

Westwood winning would be an incredible Cinderella story. He recently offloaded a bunch of shite at charity shops near me (I was tempted by one of his US Ope participants trophy, only £125), so it would be great seeing him win.

Yeah, would love to see Westwood win.

Day is reasonably calm, at least it is for links anyway. Suggestion the weather is going to improve before getting sketchy tomorrow. Expect a few to make a move in the relatively good conditions.

The weather is wretched but Lowry remains comfortably ahead. Even par for the front nine should be enough, barring a David Duval-esque disaster on the back nine.

While such a wobble would make for some drama, it would be cruel on Lowry, given how brilliant he’s been over three and a half rounds.

"You'll never see that again"

Narrator: You will.

Apparently it's a Masters tradition to attempt that shot on the 16th during practice. I'm pleased to have upheld the same tradition on every water hole I've ever played albeit with a bit less success and a lot more lost balls.

I rarely watch golf (it's a desperation watch when there is no real sport on TV), but of all the pandemic sports on TV its the only one so far I've found has been improved by the removal of the idiotic crowd shouting 'get in the hole' and other such shit.

The Masters is my favourite sporting event and it's amazing to have it in November. It is great to be able to see the whole course without tens of thousands of "patrons" milling about. The most beautiful place on earth. :D
