Buy wherever you like and just let JPR know the Steam key, which he'll forward on separately via PM if necessary.

Edit: I mean, it's nice to get that little 'You have something in your inventory' pop-up, but ultimately it's about the giving. So yeah, as I said above really.

That won't work with GOG, inasmuch as you won't get a Steam key. You could buy it as a gift and give the GOG code, mind, but obviously that won't validate on Steam.

That's why I said to let JPR know the Steam key :P

Anyway, it's getting exciting. I already have some things lined up for my victim, which useful given the short turnaround between the sale kicking-off and sending the goods over to JPR. Can't wait to read what he/she thought of them!

Yeah, but you said deKay could buy wherever, in response to him asking whether he could buy from GOG, so it's probably worth clarifying that GOG doesn't offer Steam keys!

I didn't realise that. I was only going to do it if the game was specifically a Steam key, so GOG wouldn't have happened anyhow :)

Don't think so but it seems it's hours away, I'm waiting for Secret Santa as well!

In the UK for Xmas so sure it'll be nice and confusing with my US acc. Oh and my wishlist is not in any order at all if my benefactor cares. ;)

I don't know how you managed to get onto the store, but I can see it being a good while before I'm able to access it to see what I can grab for mine! Though I do see from Twitter that Undertale is on offer, so that's something.


:unsure: My recipients wish list has vanished... I wrote a list of the ones I wanted to get them, but wanted to have a quick check to see if they added anything since I last looked and it's gone... Am hoping it is mere steam overload!

I'd guess the latter, Steam is really struggling at the moment.

Edit: yeah, almost certainly: I just managed to get in, and my victim's list is now empty.

Since discounts are fixed (according to the OP, all games will be at their best price at the start of the sale) I've listed the wishlist games of my victim - and the prices - out in my own document to work out a good spending plan. :)

Yeah, I have a list extracted, but it's a lot more convenient to just browse their list and be able to see the prices/discounts at a glance and use the direct links to purchase. And make sure they hadn't bought anything in the last couple of days. I'll check back in a few hours once Steam's had a chance to stabilise, I think.

Managed to send mine, had the same wishlist issue, but all sorted now.

Was able to sneak an extra gift from their wishlist into their little bundle too thanks to the sale prices bringing it just under budget.

This Santa's presents are on their Steam train to JPR now. Nothing off wishlist, it was just too comprehensive! Still, a nice range of prices and placements within the wishlist, and all bar one are classics I'd happily thrust upon anyone (and that other one is still perfectly fine, just not quite as life-changingly brilliant as the rest ;)).

Hope my giftee likes them!

I selected to send my gifts to JPR santa at point of purchase, but on my "manage gifts and guest passes" page it doesn't say sent. Do I need to send them again or just wait? There are two buttons, one to send and one to add to my own library.
